Can we bet for value here?
Does anything we have beat call if we bet?
Should we alway just check behind in this spot and see a showdown?
If we bet and villain pushes do we fold?

Definitely room for value. You checking behind on the turn means he'll probably think you're weak, and if he had a ten he'd probably have lead the river out of fear of you checking behind with AJ or whatever.

So ya, definitely value in betting here. Should be a bet-fold for about $3 imo.

And ya I bet flop bigger - action flop and we don't want to let him draw out or see a turn that kills our action (cough QUEEN cough).

i like a little more on the flop. river is a definite value bet and fold if he c/raises cause they rarely do that on a bluff here. a K or two pair can easily call. you could conceivably play any air (for example A-rag) this way, c-betting the flop, checking turn behind after he calls and board gets scary, and then deciding to fire again when he shows weakness by checking again. not saying he's actually thinking that, because if he has two pair he's just gonna be like "i has multiple pairs, i call you" and maybe same with a lone K

Anyone think a better line would have been to bet the flop and the turn and then check behind on the river?

no because you're unlikely to get two streets of value from worse, and if he does happen to have the T he can potentially c/r you off the hand whereas if you check behind you give yourself a 20% chance to pair the board and stack him

Definitely value bet here. A straight does this like never here. I value bet and call a reasonable re-raise as well. If villain shoves then I guess we can fold but that's an example of a hand where you're behind approximately... never.

calling a c/r on the end here is bad vs the overwhelming majority of players

Ok. Looks like it's a bet and that's what I did.

Hero bets $3
BB folds.

Nothing too dramatic here but it's a hand that I really thought I may have messed up by betting on the river against an unknown. My thought process at the time was pretty much the same as everyone here, that he would have bet the river himself if he had the straight but he might call with 2 pair or the case king.

Thanks for the feedback.
