1/2 NL live 9 plyrs. standard raise is between $7-$15 for non-straddled hand.
#1. Effective stack of about $200 (me) I in BB has 56cc. V is utg+1 raises to $10, 3 other callers before me. I call. Pot $51
Flop 2 3 10 rb. I check, V bets $15, folded around to me. I thought it was a weak bet into a $50 pot so I thought V could have AQ or AK type of hand. That and his post flop play seemed pretty passive. I float the $15 with intent to bet/fold on turn. pot $81
Turn is J. I lead for $25. V flats. pot $131.
River 4!!! Bink, somebody loves me. I lead for $60 V snap calls. (AA) I scoop $250.
My question is knowing what V had, I'm not sure if he would have called off for my remaining $150. Could I have still got it in on the river after my lead on the turn? I think a river push may scare most V's after I lead turn. Doesn't that just scream at min. 2 pair? I'm sure I missed some value with river bet, but how much more could I have gone before I should just push?
Hand #2. Effective stack of about $275 (V) $6 straddle. I'm in SB with K10 hh. UTG +2 raises to $22 (standard) one caller in CO. I call. (this is the rock bottom of my range here). I'd toss this if it was folded to me, but CO was uber easy to read so I was ok with seeing flop. V was agro enough to bet with air, but not totally stupid as far as I could tell. Pot $68
Flop 10 6 2 rb. I checked, fully expecting a c bet by V. as I expected, V. c bet ($60) and CO folded. The bet size caught me a little off guard, I was expecting $40-$50, so I had him on JJ's+ and AK. Not much more than that. I pretty much discounted 10's cause of the pot sized bet. I was leaning toward JJ or QQ or AK for some reason. (gut feeling) I decided to call and fold any turn card but 10 or K. pot $188
Turn was K, Bingo!! I open pushed all in and V. actually pushed his stack in before I could get mine in. I first thought, oh sh-t he's got kk. Nope he turns AA. Then I puke as the dealer turns over a river 2 to crush my night. Instead of leaving with almost $600, I go home with $20.
Now, I'm not too upset about how this hand went, cause I got it in good. I guess this one is more of a vent than anything. I talked about it with a friend and a another guy there and both said sh-tty beat, you played it good.
