$2/$3 NLHE, $100 buyin. I'm BB with $180, MP is super-tight and known to slowplay with $240, and the king-of-the-table who is fairly tightis CO with over $800

fold around to MP, who calls, fold around to CO who minraises ($6), I flat call, MP calls.

$20 pot.
flop [Jc][10c][9s]
I bet out $16, MP calls, CO raises to $60.

I'm pretty sure MP has a pair ( I put him on AJs or KJs at this point), I can't figure out CO except he's not an idiot. I don't think he would minraise KQ PF - he would push harder from his position.

I shove my remaining $160 or so, MP folds, CO goes through the classic " I have to call" speech, calls and shows [Ac][As]

I know it was risky shoving when I did, but what other mistakes does everyone think were in there (other than the CO calling me, that one is real obvious)

wow, nice pot.... i think you played it perfectly, if you didnt play it perfectly you would have won a 380$ pot, right?

i think the push there was the right thing to do... even if he had 99 u still had outs to make a higher fullhouse, or runners for flush.. you played it good... this is a prime example of why you dont min raise preflop with AA lol

how I make money

this is exactly how I make the "big" money at the casinos - big pots. I make a point of being caught bluffing a fair bit, and limping a lot of pots to get a real loose image. Never mind that I never commit many chips - people just see the looseness and the bluffing, for some reason, and figure I'm a fish. Then I get to hammer them when they make a mistake.

The casino I play regularly at designed its buy-in structure to induce action (and hence, more players per flop - and a larger rake because of that).
I usually play the $2/$3, $100 buyin now,
but when I started it was worse - the smallest stake game is a $1/$1, $20 buy-in (everyone starts with only 20BB). Also known as Texas no-fold-em poker.
Yeah, I find it annoying that you can't buy in for more than $100 with those blinds, but every casino (technically card club) in Los Angeles has a mandatory buy-in amount - maybe its a regualtion they have to follow in California, because I know its not like that in Vegas.

Ugh. That's a horrid structure. I'm in California, and we have a 1/2 NL w/ a max buy-in of $100 to protect the players at the table from Mr. Moneybags bullying them around. The limit games, however, you can buy-in for as much as you want if I remember correctly.
