He took a while to call my preflop bet. Do you think he was taking a chance and then hit, was he just bluffing, did he have a high PP? What should I do?

I'd raise a little more preflop. Just betting pot would already be $1.10, so i'd pop it to $1.25 or $1.50 here. You need to charge the set miners more preflop to decrease their implied odds.

Action looks a lot like a set or a straight, but he may also be getting back at you with a medium overpair or a good draw.

I think you can either call here and aim for a cheap showdown, or reraise to $9 and fold to a shove. You don't really want to play for stacks here unless villain is a fish.

BTW, any reads on him? PT stats?

I think raise/folding is pretty bad, considering how many players will play combo draws this fast on these flops. IMO, this is your commit decision. Get it all in here/on the turn, or if he's super nitty, you can call and fold to turn aggression. But I think its pretty ridiculous to try and get a cheap showdown in an already bloated pot.

I think it really depends on villain's stats. if he's quite tight, there won't be anything but small pocket pairs in the range of hands he limps/calls UTG. if he's looser and somewhat agg, there will be enough draws against us to make going on in the hand profitable.

Yeah, since its full ring, I wouldn't mind just throwing the hand away to a tight player. I get a lot of this "check raise cuz that board didn't connect with big cards" crap at 6max, so I'm less likely to fold an overpair. But I agree, if villain has solid stats, this is a set like 75% of the time, if not more.
