But sometimes they go right.

I have alot to learn with respect to winning percentages. I have the nut flush draw and AA's and I'm still down almost 2:1 to his 88's? Is that right?

I assume you are comfortable with my raise from the BB.

I also think the pot size bet on the flop is good.

Do I figure the pot odds correctly at 4.8:1 to make the call when he shoves?

Turn and river are self explanatory. :D

Any thoughts on my play are appreciated.

Also, I have demoted myself to the .05/.10NL game (6max). Trying to control my donkish tendancies.

My numbers in this game so far:

VP - 27.01
PFR - 11.97
W$WSF - 52.66
WTSD - 26.63
W$SD - 46.67 (this is too low, right?)
AF - 4.56
AFq - 62.39
3bet - 8.62
Fold3B - 33.33
Att to steal - 18.80
Fold BB to Steal - 69.23
Fold SB to Steal - 92.31

Thoughts on these numbers appreciated as well (hmm maybe I shouldn't post them in the hand analysis?)

* MP with $4.15
* CO with $10.55
* BTN with $4.45
* SB with $9.90

Raise way more preflop; doubling the initial raise is getting way too little value and is giving way too good a price to everyone involved. Pop it to like $1.5-$1.8.

Postflop is fine, you're never folding that hand to a shove from a shortstack.

One of these days I'll learn how much of a bet I would fold that hand to after the flop, but I have to think it would be hard to do no matter what.

Thanks Chuck.

Just looking at your stats I would say there is a couple things that are a little off. ATS should be higher, you should be stealing at least 20 percent minimum, preferably more. Tighten up the gap between your Vpip and pfr, you would like to be raising somewhere around 2/3 of the pots you enter. It also seems you are calling too many 3 bets, then again I'm not sure how big of a sample this is so, your stats may not mean very much.

Not a big sample at all. Maybe 800 hands or so. Kind of meaningless, but they are pretty different from my stats in the .10/.25.

Since I demoted myself to the .05/.10, I tried to tighten up and it generally shows so far.

Thanks for the input .... it's what I need to help me get better.

VPIP is higher than you want (and a little worrying that you think this is "tightening it up") and there is a large difference btwn pfr% and VPIP which also isn't what you want (you are probably limping alot of hands you should just fold...and from other stats/threads i would suspect you are cold calling far too many raises). W$SD should be 50% or higher yes but since this is a small sample 47% is fine. Fold3B is WAY too low...there is no way you should be calling 66% of 3Bs preflop. If you raise with AQ and get 3 bet by a decent/tight player who is in position, this shoudl be a very easy fold. This thread https://www.cardschat.com/forum/cash-game-hand-analysis-50/i-folded-aq-preflop-116760/#post822409 is a classic example. This is an auto fold EVERY SINGLE TIME and the fact that you made a thread and wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do makes me think you probably have a huge leak in 3 bet pots. Your AF is also quite high...this is ok if you know how to control it, but it can get you into trouble if you don't (better off at 2-3). But yes you need a MUCH larger hand sample. Repost them once you have 10k hands, or post your stats from NL25, and let some ppl have a look for obvious leaks.

As for the hand, you certainly aren't going to be folding this hand (possibly ever). Preflop raise was awful, however, and with 2 callers you want to make this like $1.50.

Really appreciate this post feitr.

Very helpful as I try to figure out what those stats mean and how I can use them to improve my game.

Many thanks.

(btw, I really do have to recalibrate (or calibrate to begin with). You say that VPIP is high, and I had to really work to get that! I find myself getting a little frustrated with the number of times I fold, and my post you reference is a good example as I had a question as to whether or not I should fold what I'm learning is an obvious fold).

Sorry, i actually missed the fact that you play 6 max not FR. So your VPIP isn't that bad for 6 max. But in 6 max, your VPIP and pfr should be VERY close (more so than in FR). I'd still work a little on tightening up if that is something you had a problem with in the past (at least make sure you are playing cards that have potential...ie. you are better off to raise 8Ts than K7o), limp less, FOLD TO 3Bs more often, and work hard on playing position (maybe not a problem, but it often is...especially if you are calling 3Bs oop, which would then be a huge leak).

This is why we multi-table. besides the obvious fact that if you are a winning player, then you win more playing more tables, it's also a lot easier to play tight when you play several tables at once.

I agree. I would probably have to be jacked up on ritalin these days to have the patience for 1-2 tables, although I must say that if you are not winning now increasing your number of tables may lead you to lose at a faster rate. You should be reviewing sessions, reading posts, posting hands etc. about as much as you are playing, and you will see faster improvement.
