Those are VERY hard spots, but I call. If you hit any pair on the board then you have a full house and you won. Other people might only have one spade and they might not hit (happened to me before :() so just go for it, you don't get trips every day :p

I would raise a little to narrow down the remaining players.
7.50$ in the pot right now, I would have made it 3.50 - 4.00
to go.

Not joking at all, that's exactly what I did. How much to raise is really the question I have with this. This is what I did and I think it's probably too much?

STLPokaWiz: raises to $10
Magnet13: raises to $19.90 all-in
Mikeyditka: folds
Gabriella06: calls calls $6.65 all-in
STLPokaWiz: calls $9.90 obviously

The raise here is the real problem for me with this hand. Does the size really matter as I'm probably going to end up all in no matter what here?Ended up magnet had 6s8s for a made flush and the board didn't pair for me.

the are you joking wasnt meant for you, sorry. i was saying that to anyone who said to call. you have so much equity that you want everyone all in here. bet enough to trap all that dead money in the pot. vs all made hands (let's say 2 flushes and a straight draw that we magically know will hit on the turn) we STILL have like 33% equity, so we want to squeeze out as much money with 4 people in the pot as we can.

most of the time you're looking at much much much weaker hands. i pop to $5-6 and call any shoves & hope everyone calls.

edit:

also, keep in mind this was limped around. so J9/KJ and a single high spade are very possible. get to raising, you're getting at least one caller. because of that i probably am on the higher end of the raise scale with $7-10 as my raise.

^^^^

No worries. My reason for posting this and bear in mind > (i'm someone who has played for a while but just started getting serious about the theory, etc. behind the game) there is so much more to be thought about with this then it looks like there is on the surface.

This hand is very complicated because of it being 5-way. Quite often someone has the flush made because of people always entering pots with sooooted hands. But you flop a set and thats what complicates it, a set is very tough to fold and on this board in a 5-way pot I'm not sure there is an answer as to what to do.

When magnet shoved it was clear you were behind because he still had FE, so his shove was a bad sign, but at that point you still have outs and no FE so you have to call. I wish I could say you should have done something different here but I don't see how. Had magnet thrown out a $5 flop bet and there were 2 callers, you could have thought about folding because something was too wrong. But as played there's nothing to say except bad luck. It sure sucks to lose like this though.
