i'd usually just raise flop cause 8 outs can hurt your action on the turn, and raising turn looks a lot stronger than raising flop

turn is fine as played

clearly value bet river. i'd probably make it a little bigger, since he liked his hand enough to call your strong turn raise. looks like Ax and people don't like folding top pair, so i'd generally prefer like $24-26 on the end

Took the words out of my mouth.

Smooth calling and waiting for the turn is such an obvious slowplay and you'll often get people folding their marginal hands a lot more often than if you just raise the flop which builds the pot a lot better anyways. So just raise the flop.

Thnx for the advice guys. I hope it's not too early but Ill just say the results now. He had 33 and won with a better set. I guess there's really no way to get away from this, even deep stacked right?

nah man, it's actually pretty unbelievable that he had a hand that beat you to begin with, but also that you didn't lose more. that guy blew it

Yeah , how does he not reraise all-in on the river? Lucky to get out of this hand with any $$ remaining because if either you or your opponent had played the hand correctly he would have taken everything you had.
