Since the HORSE tables were full I sat down at a Stud-8 table. This was only about the 10th hand but I could tell enough people were playing some loose mainly-low hands; nothing especially out of the ordinary there though.

I raised 3rd street because I wanted to get out as many hands as possible, which is actually related to my question. I bet 4th street again to increase the pot. Then UHoo bets out 5th street. What would you do here? Obviously the question is between raise and call since folding is very, very wrong.

Wow, a stud 8 hand, shock! Who knew anyone else played this game.

First and foremost, use the Stud hand converter, cuz un-converted stud hands are rough to read:

Seven Card Stud Hand Converters for www.twoplustwo.com

Next, you're first to act, so you may want to consider limping in, and then 3-betting this hand. A lot of its value is on the first 3 streets, so finding a way to put extra money in is always nice. Unless the game was really limpy/passive, I'd be looking to limp/3-bet in this spot.

4th is an obvious bet.

On 5th, its pretty obvious that he's made his low, but its impossible for him to have a straight. Thus, since you're playing for half the pot, you want the pot to be as big as possible. Thus you should be using standard pot swelling techniques. Or, in this case, since everyone is to act behind you, go ahead and call, and try to entice them to tag along. Raising would force them to call two bets cold, and would probably get them to fold (which we don't want).

Seat 4: UHoo showed [3h Ah 5h 2s 7s 8h Qs] and won ($1.67) with HI: high card Ace; LO: 7,5,3,2,A
Seat 5: Dutch Dan folded on the 4th Street
Seat 6: charliehitch folded on the 3rd Street (didn't bet)
Seat 7: escaper folded on the 3rd Street
Seat 8: Sohmurr showed [Qc Qd Qh 3c Td 9c 3d] and won ($1.68) with HI: a full house, Queens full of Threes

I figured calling would be the better option; however, I only realized that after I quickly raised 5th street. The other two still in the hand folded and we ended up splitting the pot. Limp/raising on 3rd probably would have been a good idea, there had been a decent amount of raising on 3rd in the few hands I had played prior to this. I rushed too many bets during yesterdays sessions and probably lost a few BB in value for not thinking through everything enough. (And next time I'll use that hand converter. :) )

Wow, HUGE mistake to 3-bet 6th! Sure, you're lucky that there were already some 4's and 9's out, so it wasn't a giant mistake, but you need to realize that you're being freerolled.

Hand - Equity
7s 2s Ah 8h 5h 3h - 0.573
Qc 9c 3c Qd Td Qh - 0.427

Notice, for everyone $1 you put in, you get $0.85 back! Not to mention the rake...

You should be check/calling 6th street everytime. Once you fill up, you can go ahead and bet/call the river I suppose, but without a full house, you're being freerolled big time here.
