CCers go to war and an innocent bystander gets stacked :)

So what's he got and what's his thought process?

I've never played with Jagsti, but if it were me who had done what he just did, my 3-betting range is AQ+, TT+, and the occasional weaker squeeze (depending on table dynamics). When you call my 3-bet out of position, I will squarely put you on either 99-JJ, AA or AK. It's very rare for people to flat QQ/KK because they'd rather not be stumped when an ace comes on the flop so they seem to be much more likely to 4-bet.

So when the flop comes all diamonds, my range for betting the flop is basically JJ (which I can't have) and overpairs with a diamond in them. Possibly not QdQ, though, but that's depends on how aggressive the table is. I definitely bet KdK. I'm also looking to get it in with AdX, so will bet that also.

If he plays like me, he checks the rest of his range.

Then when the action is bet and push in front of me, I think I can fold just about my whole range with the exception of AdAx (and of course AdKd and AdQd).

Jagsti is thinking: I'm in a 3-way pot with a fish, I have AK/AQ with no club. There is no value in betting.

i think he could easily have an overpair here. sees monotone flop in position and decides to look for a safe turn so he can actually get it in with decent equity. if he gets it in with like red QQ on the flop, he's never in very good shape. the safe turn card comes but there's a bet and a shove so he makes a somewhat easy but disciplined fold

or, you know, the super obvious AK

Jag may have even had the case J, seeking 2 pair, but the flush flop cooled him, where as the not so innocent bystander had one high club, and was chasing, then when he hit the wall, he was egotistically committed to the pot and had to bluff at it. Or perhaps his one big club was the K.

I can't imagine you Rex feeling comfortable with the set here.

Well I had KK, with the case club as well. My thoughts are, I'm in a shitty position stuck in the middle here, and I'm probably behind a set or made flush. If I poosh then I prolly have to hit the club, and even then I'm not guaranteed to win. I banked here for a while as I tried frantically to work out if I had enough equity to call (which at the time I was 18tabling), but I think I made the right choice. River would have been nice :p

I would probably have bet Kc-Kx, but I think an argument can be made for not doing it. There aren't that many cards you have to worry about, and the pot is certainly big enough that you can get it in easily later on in the hand if you want to. And if someone holds the Ac, then checking for a "safe" turn is certainly not a bad idea before sticking in more money.

Well played, sir.

sick play jag, ridiculous soul read check on flop, fold on turn. Although i can't see why you wouldnt bet the flop holding the club, but thats probably because i suck and would have lost money on this hand

I'm horrible enough to have called and sucked out here. Nice play Jag. Rex would have been left counting his Sklansky bucks, and mumbling about suckout donkeys.
