ok no ( there are other ways to play it ) you played it good, that guy played his Queens badly.... I mean there was a straight draw and flush draw out there he should have moved all in on the flop. Unfortunately for him though you could have called you had an up & down straight draw and a King High flush draw, 15 drawing outs if you count your over cards to the board you would have 19 easy call. Good job collecting the pot.

I don't like your raise from the CO with KT sooted and a limper in front of you. I also don't like your minraise on his flop bet. You both played your hands wrong IMO, but, as posted, I think he played his QQ much worse than you played your KT.

Well played IMO. He should be shoving the flop after your min raise c-bet.

Also, fold K10 pre flop, too weak of a hand to fool around with.

I do not like the river shove, but you obviously had the best hand and was called, so there was no reason to criticize you for that. If it were me, I check behind on the river.

p.s. Was your entire post 1 long sentence? Work on that, hard to read. :)

He played his QQ badly, but you did rivered him, he had you beat upto the river. He shouldn't have given you a chance to draw to your straight/flush. I know prople are in love with suited cards, but you have to learn to flop them. It'll save you big trouble in the long run.

i agree with folding k,t pre flop, i never play it since if your called its very likely you are dominated if a king falls.

Also you only bought in for 200 at the table, you should have bought in for the maximum 500. By doing this you can put in more than a min raise on the flop without becoming commited to the hand.

The rest of the play seems fine except pushing on the river, its very risky since even if the villain was bluffing with a hand like kq, he has you crushedm it isnt a good enough hand to push with on the river.

I actually was going to make a note about the raise pre-flop but then I thought about it and 3x B.B is ok sense it is a cash game, its a good setup bet for a play or a float on the river if he didn't have his monster... in a tournament I would agree not worth it at all but cash games are meant to screw with peoples minds.

you both played it terribly.

why are you re-raising (and so small at that) with Kh10h with a short stack? That's mistake 1.

Mistake 2 is min-raising the flop because he's not folding and neither are you at this point. Now no matter what comes on the turn it should be all-in for you.

Mistake 3 is leaving yourself $35 left when the river card comes. That's just... really bad.

The reason he was upset besides him losing $200 is that you were calling and raising while playing "I'm feeling lucky" poker. True the river was lucky for you, but the key is to learn from your defeats AND learn from your lucky suck outs. If you truely think you played this well and can't see that you were dominated until luck granted you that river then you are going to loose alot of money.

Against QQ, KTh was actually the favourite on the flop: nine outs to the flush, another six outs to the open-end straight draw and another three kings. That's 18 outs total, making the hand 62% for the turn and river combined.

So this wasn't actually as much of a "lucky suck out" as is being suggested.

That said, on the flop there's no way we could've known that all of those outs were clean - we could be up against an Axh flush draw, AA, JJ, etc.

FWIW, I don't hate the raise on the flop, but I'd probably flat call the flop and turn bets instead: you don't have a made hand yet, but you're being given a fantastic price just to come along and make one of your draws.

I know he was the favorite on the flop. I never said he wasn't.

I'm saying the pre-flop play was terrible and so was the min-raise. Just shove the flop. You're not leaving yourself enough behind for the rest of the hand to be making a weak min-raise like that. Besides, you'd rather have all your money in with 2 cards coming when you don't have a made hand.

If you go back to that place play really tight and pummel all the bad players pre-flop. you'll still get called.

we have
$500 max buy in here and 3x big blind is not enough to buy the button or chase any limpers out but that was a nice pot builder . so just tell me how you can play such rags and then hit the flop so hard?and then all in with a pair and win you are livin right enjoy it while it last

Agree here, this pretty much sums it up. I don't agree with shoving the turn, but it's a spot you've now put yourself in because you're pot-committed.

Against QQ, KTh was actually the favourite on the flop: nine outs to the flush, another six outs to the open-end straight draw and another three kings. That's 18 outs total, making the hand 62% for the turn and river combined.

True, but how are we to know he has QQ?

Villain could have any number of hands here. I could make his flop decision look terrible if villain has JT - he's now a 9:1 favourite and anything but a fold is terrible.

I'm saying the pre-flop play was terrible and so was the min-raise. Just shove the flop. You're not leaving yourself enough behind for the rest of the hand to be making a weak min-raise like that. Besides, you'd rather have all your money in with 2 cards coming when you don't have a made hand.

Shoving the flop is pretty bad as well - this is a VERY ugly flop for our hand. JT, sets, two pair hands, etc etc are all possibilities and getting led into on this flop should make us shut right down.

I agree it's better than minraising (which is terrible, no offense), but by far folding is the best option. Fold>>>>>shove>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>minraise
