Alright so I'm not really sure if i played this hand well. Villain was 20/0/0 over about 40 hands so i wasn't sure what i could really put him on. Any suggestions on how i could have played this out differently?

Uhhhggghh.. That is a sick board. I think the flop is fine, i might raise the turn (fairly small) just to see where i stand, even though it's probably behind. Good thing is you have position, so if he does flat the turn raise he more than likely had a 89 or 45. I've found that people donk into you with a drawing hand more often than not.

This raise will not only charge him to draw, if he is, but also possibly discourage the big river bet.

As played i fold the river a majority of the time, barring some rediculusly aggro opponent.

I don't know what you're scared of on the turn! With a made full house any straight is drawing dead and the only thing you can be scared of is the case 7. Worrying about the 7 will only make you doubt yourself.

I don't see how you can think you're "probably behind" with that board on the turn. KK and AA or the case 7 are the only things that beat you.

If he had KK or AA preflop in all likelihood you would have been reraised preflop so I would be betting pot on the turn. My guess is he had AJ or something and sucked out on the river. Which he wouldn't have if you had bet pot on the turn.

Ohhh wow.. completely misread that...

Thought it came 677... 6... A

In the case that i actually read the board right, i'm definately re-popping the turn, expecting to get looked up by 88/99 a lot of the time, hopefully even a 6. Yeah, that turn card definately changes everything.

Raise the flop to at least a dollar, bet the turn at least 4/5ths pot, you can bet the river ~1/2 pot if he checks, and I would certainly call a river bet if the hand had been played like I just said.

As played now, I think the river is a fold. You've let ace high come this far with your cheap betting, and I'd say you've been sucked out on at least 65% of the time.

Thanks. Yeah looking back at it i should have probably bet on the turn and bet a little bigger on the flop. I was trying to figure out where i was with the smallish bet on the flop and when he just flat called it I wasn't really sure where he was at on the turn.

Stop worry about where you are. "Betting to find out where you are" is such a terrible newbie mistake. You'll naturally find out where you are as the hand goes on while you're betting for value/to get other hands to fold/ect.

In cash games, you should just be repeatedly asking yourself this question: Is there value in betting? In this particular case, there is tons of value in betting. All pairs lower than QQ are going to call you, and any 6 is most likely going to call you. So bet, and stop worrying about if he has quads or aces.
