I am the Big Blind (1/2) I have about 240
I get Dealt: Ac Kh Qs Jh

Overall a bunch just called. I raises it pot to 22 to go.
Guy after me goes all in for 78 (G1)
Guy after him calls (G2)
Everyone folds to me and I call

Flop: Ad Qh Jd
If he called me with K10 he is beating me and got lucky so I bet all in 160
(straight or fullhouse draw worst case)
G1 is already all in
G2 calls my all in

Cards are flipped up
G1 As 3d 5h 5d
G2 Ah Ks 2d 8h
Looks like I am way ahead.

Turn: 5s
Mine were way ahead

River: Kh

Well I went from Waaaaaaaaaaaay Up to getting quartered...

Did I play it wrong? Did I just get donked?

Invalid.

Next time post the real hand history, our memories are to short.

Either you got dealt the Kh, or it was the river card. Or you were too drunk.

Yep, you weren't ahead anymore on the turn :( for the main pot, and the river killed you because you ended up splitting the side pot ($320). You didn't get quartered though, you lost the $78 you put in the main pot, unless you're messing up the HH.

To answer your questions, I don't think you did wrong, and the river is what hurt you most because that side pot was almost a lock for the high, although there were plenty low cards that could have came on the river and caused the same result (split pot).

When chips go in on the flop in a omaha hi/lo game and the pot is 3-way, there is so much that can happen that honestly I don't know how people's heads don't explode when trying to figure it all out. This one was actually easier than others because there weren't many cards that could make you lose the high, except the 2 5's or a 3rd diamond, and a K would cause a split. For your bad luck, that combination came :( .

OK maybe I used the wrong word but after rake and everything I finish up winning 1/4th of the pot.

Mr Lucky Turn got the main pot and then Mr Lucky River (Only king or 10 splits) and I go from winning everything to getting about 1/4th of the total pot.

Ok, first, I think you mean to say that by winning 1/4th of the pot, the guy with the set of fives won his all in and tripled up, and you split the rest with Aces and Kings with the other player in the hand.

I do not like potting it preflop with slim chance of scooping. If the table is tight then this isnt as bad of a play, but when you go up against two or more there are so many flops that make your decision extremely difficult. I also probably would not have called the 78. Not only that, but position is everything in Omaha and you made that play in what appears to be at best middle position. Without being double suited, no low possibility, and not even a pair, I think this is an easy hand to not have lost so much on.

That aside, your postflop play is what it is based on the size of the pot.

Next time, dont pot it with AKQJ, It looks powerful but in Omaha H/L it is not as strong as you might think, especially when your not in position...

AKQJ Good Omaha high only hand just average Hi/lo hand and one that I would want to see a pot cheaply with especially if it's a loose table.

The key to hi/lo is scooping. With a hand like AKQJ you can only scoop if there are not 3 low cards on the board plus no 3 suited cards. Not good odds overall so I would see a cheap flop if possible.

Many Omaha players way over rate the strength of their hands pre-flop.

Hard to over-rate a hand when mostly everyone plays every hand.

I believe you raised pre-flop which is what I am talking about. Especially if you are sure you will get a lot of callers. You are building a pot with a fairly weak hand.
