Bad luck. Many good players would have done the same. Maybe some would play differently, but chances are they would call a bet on the river after checking the turn, and end up losing the same amount you lost.

I wouldn't say that was bad play. Just unfortunate you ran into a set. The flop appeared to be in your favor.

You played your cards correctly, plus the flop was in your favor. Too bad you faced one of the hardest hands to read ....three of a kind. It's poker and those hands do not consider them bad luck just a better hand.
