Any reads? Honestly, He could have anything. Two pair or a straight (8,9 wouldn't be a bad call in his position) I think he called just to protect his big blind. I would have raised more preflop, especially if you're UTG.

You have anything else to go on here? How are you seen? What do you know about the AI villian? Any stats maybe? I guess short of you giving me additional information about the villian, I call this.

First of all, AA/KK would likely have reraised PF here to isolate. Slow playing them as a flat call behind a PF raise and flat call isn't the brightest idea IMO.

Second, this is a huge overbet if he really wants your action (unless he really is thinking that deep and figures you'll see it that way), so I don't give too much credit to the set. Plus, you minraised the flop bet which he could see as weak. He could also be pushing hard on top pair or something, I suppose figuring his over aggression will save him.

Third, are the comments he typed. That screams weak and trying to intimidate you to a fold or question your judgement (again, see deep thought comments above).

Fourth, you could be behind to two pair, but you have some decent redraws. So take it as a lesson to raise more PF. At $25NL, raising 4-5xBB is not unreasonable and will still get called but by fewer players.

So if he's shown down anything that will show him as being laggy at all, then I'd instacall and expect to see AK/AQ, 99-JJ, or even 22 a good amount of the time (90% +).

Oh, and OMG LOL if he's holding 73 from the BB, call the PF raise and flopped a set. Keep playing with him. You'll have the money back soon enough. :)

Well,
At this point I'm pretty new to the table (haven't shown anything down/made any real plays), while he's been limping a lot, making a lot of min-bets and min-raises with marginal hands (overplayed (IMO) 66, A9o, etc), and has generally been in a lot of pots.
I'll let a few more people answer before I reveal what actually happened.

Also, the reason I didn't raise more is because the rest of the table has been REALLY passive, and villain likely wouldn't give me any action if he saw me making a non-standard raise. Maybe this is a mistake.

Thanks^^^. If I'm new to the table like this, haven't shown down yet, and watched this guy play this way, then I'm guessing he doesn't give us much credit for a hand and his range is wider than average. So to me QQ is a call.

My instinct (mostly what I rely on in these situations) told me villain probably hit a straight with something like 87, or a set with something like 44 or 55. After taking a while, I ended up folding, and villain showed 73.
Guess you just have to trust your instinct at times.

Being relatively new to the table, I would have done the same.

This is the point when you fold, then make notes that he'll call a raise w/73, and overbet when he hits.
