I'm going to take a shot at this one... let's see if I do it right.
Cards that can beat you: Any Q, any 8, any two suited spades.

I would put farmer74 on a suited Ace with a weaker (10, J?) kicker. I don't think he has the boat. He may have the nut flush, but because you didn't bet harder on the turn, he doesn't put you on a boat. I think his river bet is there to entice you to call.

With no reads given, you are calling for less than half the pot.

I would call. (I would probably lose too).

there's no flush, 2 clubs and 2 spades, basically any Q, any 8, or pocket 6s has me beat.

Well I did end up making the call and winning the pot, as he flipped over 22 (playing the board). I'm still not sure it was a good call though. The check-call on the turn and then leading out on the river looked a lot like a slow-played Q, not wanting to check the river risking me checking behind (which I would have done in this situation). I'm not sure why I called, I'm just not sure if it was a good call.

Given the river bet size i call here lots without reads. Expect to win the pot just over 50% of the time.

It looks more like a blocking bet or bluff to me. Odd bet for sure, but I agree with the call. I think occasionally you'll see odd pairs here and ace high as well. Reads help in this spot.
