I only like this if I think he's

a) capable of laying down a larger pair than 4-4, or
b) Would call with AK.

And the only way you'll find this out is by sticking him all in. The turn was a rotten card though, hard to think why someone would call $28 on 8 8 4 board and not call $46 on a 8 8 8 4 board. If you think you'd have to call a bet from them on the river though you might as well go all-in as it gives you an extra chance to win if he folds mid pair. I'd have checked and folded though.

This looks like a move I've done time and time again. You've got a great hand on the flop, pretty much the nuts, but the turn changes that all around. I find I'm having a tough time sometimes changing pace when the cards go against me.

I'm not sure the all in is a good move, if you had the 8 it's not something people would expect you to do, so I think it's fold value is minimal. I think there's a good chance villain has an overpair or the 8 in which case they're calling and you're done.

The best case scenario as I see it is when you have an aggressive image on the table, and they're prepared to gamble with overcards. But in this case they're unlikely to call your bet, you would have been better checking and maybe making a small value bet on the river.

Hmm... I'm forgetting that while we know your cards he doesn't. He could be putting you on an overpair (T-K), and the all in is your attempt to take down the pot now before an overcard comes on the river. In which case, if he's got a lower pair or overcards there's a good chance he will fold.

You're obviously losing. And I'm pretty sure he has the remaining 8... what other hand raises on a 488 flop and calls a big re-raise? Just fold it.

I don't like this at all. You're beat by an 8 or any pair larger than 4s and what, other than those hands, does villain conceivably raise with and call your re-raise on the flop?! Your bet isn't going to scare him much, because it makes it obvious you don't have the 8 and that his pair, if he has one, is probably good. If he has the 8 there's obviously no thought process involved for him.

The turn was an incredibly awfully unlucky card for you, but it doesn't mean you have to toss 50 more bucks.

The one thing that Full Tilt lacks is the time bank option. You get very little time to make your decisions, and that makes it almost automatic, the 8 on the turn rattled me a little, and i figured that i would call almost any bet by him. Considering i was not 100% sure he had the case 8.

Check folding actually didnt enter my mind at the time, best play, opening me up to lot of potential positional bluffs etc.

He called and had it.
