I've been at this table for 6 hands. I've never played with any of these players before. Aside from the fact that I probably should not have completed the blind in the first place, please suggest my next move. I'll post the rest of this tomorrow AM EDT.

Well, given the fact there were no raises pre-flop and the hand was checked all the way down until that final club, I can't really put him on A,K or A,10 or even A,4 for that matter. Since a boat is the only thing that beats you, I'd call every day of the week (given how the hand was played). I put him on a lower club.

With a paired board, the best course of action(IMO) is a flat call, with as many ppl in the hand that there are, you could possily be beat by 44, A4, AT.
You also have to ask yourself, what would you have(if switched places with villian)to be holding to make a pot sized bet with 3 other players to act behind you?

Naw. I think he was either getting tricky with trip aces or he has the Jack of clubs.

I'd re-raise, and fold to a shove.

If you re-raise here, don't you most likely get called only by a hand that beats you?

Eeewww.

If villain is halfway intelligent, he's got to figure at least one of you (and probably both of you) have the flush and he's going to get called by someone. So what does that mean?

You've got the nut flush. He might make this move with the Jc in his hands, hoping you've both got lower clubs, but it'd be pretty reckless. With that card in that spot, I'd just pay the 25c and see the showdown.

So I think I pay this off, but I expect it's a crying call. His line just fits a flopped full house too well.

Did he roll over A4, or 44?

And I guess that's one thing I discounted from the beginning - and I'm not sure why exactly. Maybe it's the stakes, or maybe my gut's giving me indigestion instead of good poker instincts. It could be he slow-played a monster from the flop. Even given that though, like you said, I'd still have to pay it off.

Thanks for the great feedback everybody. Here's how it ended.

----

Joe Slick: raises $2.50 to $4
Sepeppy: folds
jtoobi3: raises $21.60 to $25.60 and is all-in
Joe Slick: calls $5.25 and is all-in
*** SHOW DOWN ***
jtoobi3: shows [Ts Ad] (a full house, Aces full of Tens)
Joe Slick: mucks hand
jtoobi3 collected $18.80 from pot
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $19.75 | Rake $0.95
Board [As 4c Ac Tc Kc]
Seat 1: ROFOLD folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 2: Sepeppy folded on the River
Seat 3: Ryno8383 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 5: jtoobi3 (button) showed [Ts Ad] and won ($18.80) with a full house, Aces
full of Tens
Seat 6: Joe Slick (small blind) mucked [Qc 8h]
Seat 7: TosT235 (big blind) folded on the River
Seat 8: guyfox folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 9: BestHand17 folded before Flop (didn't bet)

----

In retrospect, if I had $30 left after my raise instead of $5.25, I suppose I would have had to fold to his allin.

My biggest problem here is that I never seriously considered him actually having a better hand.

Thanks again.

P.S.

If any of you respsond with a question or comment and expect a response after this afternoon, I probably won't be responding until Monday 4/21.

Early tomorrow AM I will be headed to Florida with kids and grandkids, and then to a cruise with 2000+/- people, a few mice, chipmunks, pirates, ducks, princes and princesses, BEER, WINE, and FUNKY TROPICAL DRINKS but NO POKER (unfortunately).

I hope you all make money while I'm gone. :D

gotta fold to the shove. Nothing less than the nut flush is shoving there beside idiots or crazy bluffs.

I agree.

But he had the nut flush, and he was short stacked to boot. It would have been a better (and easier!) fold if he had $25 instead of $10.

...kind of tricky hand, especially as you only had been there for 6 hands, but as you didnt have anymore than 5.25 left its a given call.

...hmm but if you had $30 instead I think I would have folded, off course there are many crazy bluffers out there, but honestly its not often players bluff that way with 4-flush on the table...
