Hey guys,

I just got PT3 and uploaded all the hand histories i had from pokerstars, i know that there are only 899 hands for cash games here but i was wondering if somebody could point me in the right direction as to where i am going wrong.

Cash games are something i really want to improve on as i am mainly a tournament player so any advice would be hugely appreciated, if there isnt enough info here just gis a shout and i'll upload some more screenshots, thanks, and please dont be too brutal lol

So there they are, for all the CC community to gloat at lol, i'm open to constructive crit, my idea is to get some ideas and views from here and start a new db, using strict BR managment, as that is something i havent quite got a grasp of! And then upload some new shots to see if i've improved.

Thanks for any advice

Honestly you've played WAY too few hands to even guess anything. Couple of questions though:

Why are you playing at so many different limits?

Why are you playing both 6-max and FR?

hmmmm thought i'd not have enough info there

I think that the reason i have played both full ring and 6 max is that I'm still kinda trying to find out what sort of player i am/want to be
EDIT: Strictly when it comes to cash games, I know what works for me in sngs and mtt's

i've had success playing tight-aggressive in tournaments but from what i understand tight is not right when it comes to cash games??? I may be thinking of just 6 max there though? Do you think i should stick to my tight style and stick to full ring?

The varying limits is a problem of mine that i know about, in my op i said that i was going to start a new db and enforce strict BRM because, as you can see, its not my forte at the min

What WV said.

+ you look way too loose. Pick one game to get an extended run at and when you get around 5-10k hands at that level, then we can give you some direction in your stats. Seriously we can't give any advice with your stats at so many different levels.

Yeah, you can't mix no limit with limit, and you can't mix 6-max with full ring. It mixes different sets of stats together to give you one big set of meaningless stats. And your # of hands for individual games is way too low to make any judgments.

One thing that I think might carry over from game to game is your VPIP in the SB. Unless the games are so passive that you're regularly getting 8:1 to call, that's a very high percentage. That may be the case in the limit games. However, you might want to watch yourself to make sure you're not calling many raises in the SB.

Edit: I'm not saying you can't play limit and no limit and 6-max and full ring. I play all of those from time to time. I'm saying you can't mix the stats and say you have 900 hands when you really have no more than a couple hundred from any single uniform set of data.

I asked the question about the wildly varying limits to see if you were practicing any BRM. Also you do not have to start a new db to separate out limits or 6-max v FR play. Just set the options you'd like displayed under filters. I'd highly recommend sticking with a buy-in level within your bankroll and playing at least a few thousand hands before trying to make any sense of your stats.

OK so need more hands lol, sorry, seems a bit dumb posting them now!

I'll be back.......with a bigger and better database, thanks though :)

Just out of interest, i thought i played a lot but you guys are talking about thousands of hands here, roughly how much is needed to build a decent size db in your opinions??

Well if you just want to get some guidance on stats, then around 10k hands should be enough. If you want to find out winrates then a helluva a lot more. Players can have break even stretches of 50-100k hands.

No need to feel dumb. If you want help in the meantime just post hands you have questions about in the HA forum.

Many players and member here can easily claim over a million hands played. A few could even document it as they have been using some sort of tracker for a long time.

There are many multi-tablers here, who could easily be seeing 1000 hands per hour! Even if that is a stretch, 200/ hour is not, and one could almost do 200 in tourney play.

So you might want to consider this all a breaking in period where you are seeking out some game/level you feel comfortable with, and then concentrate on that format. You should never feel you might be risking too much of your bankroll.
