Nah that was a perfect raise, Sammy.

What other amount could you have raised that would keep him in without risking the majority of his stack? I mean had you raised to like $18, you'd have put more than half his stack in and he would have to fold anyways. And anything less than that, and you're giving him pot odds that are too favourable.

I know you play a TAG game, and maybe that's why this guy could fold JJ or QQ or AK or whatever he might have had. I personally have been playing alot looser and more aggressive in ring games. That way, when I make a raise like this, people give me no respect and they'll often push with AQ and JJ type hands that they normally wouldn't. Maybe try it out a session or two at a lower limit and see how it works for you :)

I think this is fine. A lot of players won't be able to lay down JJ here, let alone something like QQ or AK. It's a small-blind vs. big-blind encounter, so it's really hard for him to definitively put you on a hand this strong. He's showing a lot of strength, so just get it all-in and negate his positional advantage.

I like a smaller re-raise here, maybe doubling his bet to $13 total. You WANT him to call with JJ etc, not get him to play perfectly and fold. With any luck he'll push on you. Or, just call and check-raise the flop.
