Bet the pot, maybe more. If he calls, he either has a flsuh/straight draw or he's slowplaying the trips.

BTW, raise more preflop.

I agree the flop bet was probably on the small side but why would you raise more then 3xbb pf?

I like the flop bet. Pre-flop raise could have been a little higher, but meht I guess its fine. If you're playing a TAGgy game, I'd raise more preflop just to maximize your preflop edge. I'd make my standard raise 4xBB's since for the most part you're going to be way ahead of their range preflop.

Yeah, this is sorta like a WA/WB spot, except that we're usually way ahead, so there's still value in betting. I probably bet $1.75 on the turn.

I like your smaller 70% of pot bet size. It'll keep us from getting stacked when he has an 8, and it might get more calls out of those medium pairs who just don't believe.

Right i think im doing okay so far. I think the turn and river is where my play is really iffy. Im just so unsure of where i stand. I think calling the min-raise is a little spewy..But i hate min-raises so much (<-- possible leak).

Turn: ($2.40) 7

Hero bets $1.50, MP1 raises to $3, Hero calls $1.50

River: ($8.40) 8

Hero..

I really didnt know how to take the min raise. Are we ready to give up on the turn or are we willing to see a river (which i obviously did). On the river whats are best line now?

Call min-raise. Shove river. We're beaten by aces and quads. No-brainer value-shove.

The min-raise on the turn doesnt factor in? If the third 8 hadnt come are we looking to check-call anything but a king and fold to a shove? Looking back now I realise we beat nearly all his range on the river, mainly 77+. I played this hand over-cautiously and checked the river, then called $3.50 bet. Turns out he had A-8 and had be beat the whole hand, just one of those days.

Thanks for your input today c9, youve been invaluable.

Yeah, the min-raise does look like quads. But if you put your opponent on quads every time this happens, you're gonna be broke fast.

If a blank hits on the river, this is certainly a check/call a bet that gives you good odds. Min-raises are bad bad bad.

This way we dont get into a sticky situation post flop where we have a bunch of weaker hands calling us pre-flop. You are in early position so a bigger raise here is better (IMO). The "standard" for online is 4X the BB plus one BB for ever limper I believe. Live is usually the 3x the BB, but online we want to fold out non premium hands because from my experience if you get one or two callers behind you everyone believes they should call given the odds here. Always better to win a smaller pot than lose a big pot here.

Just my opinion from a micro gambler
