Table was the usual, the pre-flop raiser(s) were routinely playing very big pots, i was getting my odds to hit a set let alone flop the boat. The river bet was because id figured at this stage of the hand he had an over-pair and was over-playing it.

Rush of blood on the turn ? What do you think, could I have gotten paid off more if i held until the river to spike the pot. I feel that i played this badly.

Don't get greedy TB it was only trips. You were probably facing a flush draw or an overpair or both. I would have checkraised the flop.

I would have checkraised the flop.
No way I check raise the flop here. It's highly likely I'm miles ahead, so letting my opponents draw to a flush or straight is in my best interest.

What do you think, could I have gotten paid off more if i held until the river to spike the pot.
I think you got all you could.

If ArMorSix had raised the last 8 pots, he probably missed the flop and was just betting overcards. On the river, he shuts down on that board with two callers.

Shabapp was most likely looking for a club. He shuts down if he misses his draw, so check-raising the turn was your last chance to make more money off him.

I raise in the same spot. Both parties shut down unless they hit on the river. Get what you can on the turn, and pray a draw gets filled on the river.

sorry dogs, but i agree with jay here
check-raising would just shut them out of the pot...why bother?
leading out or check-calling to let them try to draw out is best here
then a reasonable river bet for value

Yeah, I'd say good play, TB. Maybe a small min. raise on the turn or just another cold call? I don't see what you did wrong on the river. Your bet was less than half the pot (if my calculations are right).

But like Chuck, I think jay has the best analysis on this one.

Yep, what Jay said. I think you played it fine TB, letting the pot grow and making it irresistable to chase. Maybe i'd have raised a touch less after the turn to try and keep both of them in, but I presume Amorsix was bluffing and didn't see any point in continuing further. Just a shame opponent missed what he was going for!

I think you played it perfect, TB

You only bet half the pot on the turn and with an aggressive player like this, most players would be betting more

Nice pot

I think the only thing I'd have done differently would have been to make it a value bet on the river - something like $5, which was more likely to get paid off, rather than $15... which was half the size of the pot and unlikely to be called unless the opponent had made a fairly strong hand.

I agree with Four Dogs. I'm moraly opposed to giving 2 opponents a cheap look at the turn especially with a flush draw. I wouldn't have been too worried about the straight. What did he call a preflop raise with, 4,5? I doubt it.
Unlike TB, I also doubt anyone hung in there with a full house draw. If they had started with something like A,3 then that laydown on the river was the play of the year.

I think you're missing the part about TB having a full house on the flop. Board was 363, he had 66.

lol. I would be surprised if everyone here hasn't missed something obvious at some point.

You could always just start a new and exciting thread so people stop viewing this one... title it "where did shana hiatt go?" or something... :)

I like the way you played it. Armorthingy seems to be an overaggro donk from what you've said, so I like waiting until the turn to c/r. The fact that a third player is sticking around makes it even better - one of them is probably drawing, let them stick around until the turn to possibly hit a bad 'out'.

River bet is fine, don't sweat it just because villain suddenly realised he has no hand - there are enough possible holdings that will pay you off (if you think villain will be minraising a large range of hands preflop) to make the bet worthwhile.
