You couldnt have done much differently. The check is good preflop, and there isnt much point betting out with no draw on the flop

The only consolation is that you was behind from the flop, you didnt get sucked out on

The raise is good on the river. Your opponent could easily have trip kings

Better luck next time

losing coin flips are much more tolerable when you are playing within your bankroll. I only seem to see bitch sessions about coin flips losses when the plaer in question is playing too big a' stakes

Read the post before posting sh1t. Also, could you explain to me how the hand developed into a 'coinflip'?

He is playing at $10max NL table

Wow. Is .05/.10 NLHE outside anyone's BR? Hmmm.

To be precise: K8o VS A2s heads-up is 38% VS 62%. Not quite a "coin flip".

Someone (FP) taught me it is best to leave off the results of a HH until a few people have given their opinion of the hand. It focuses on the play and not the result.

The only thing you might have done a little better is raise his turn bet on your draw since you needed more info. If he calls, you know he's got something. His big bet on the river was a sign of something big. With a KQK on board, I may have thought "boat" and just called his river bet to save a little money.

The way the hand played out, you had no information about his hand. People can limp in preflop with just about anything. His bet on the turn let you know he had a piece of it but you are not sure how much. Since you were on a draw you only called (prob what I would do) but it still gave you no information about his hand. This forced you to reraise on the river knowing the only caller you are going to get is one that will beat you. Would you have felt better if he showed 33 or 88 and had the small boat instead? The point is that when the board pairs there is always that slight chance that you will get beat with the boat. You will win that hand 4 of 5 times on the river and not remember it because that is the way it is suppose to happen. The ones you lose are the one you remember.

You can play a hand correctly and still lose to better cards or a lucky catch on the river. While writing this my AA got cracked by 35 off suit on a 2c/5c NL table when he called a 60c raise with it and got two pair on the turn. Doesn't mean I played them wrong, I just did not win.

Just to be clear this wasn't a bad beat thread or complain about the loss thread, and I am well within my bankroll. I ended up about $8 on the table within the next hour anyways. I honestly learn more from losing because the hands I lose I remember clearly.

I didn't have any information and feel that my reraise at the end was a bad bet, wondered what the pros thought. In retrospect I got overly excited to hit the nut flush and didn't THINK about what could be out there to beat me.

Think you hit it there. Happens to me sometimes, hit a big hand then get too excited to see what else is out there. Trying to stop that though.

When you see the board pair, adn 2 high cards (in this case King Queen) are on the board, you should immidiately slow down. Two of your spades were dead here, the 8 and the K. You just unlucked out and hit one of your dead outs. Better luck next time.

Yeah, I don't like the play. Limping in on the BB with A2s is not a bad thing really. You called a pot-sized bet on the turn .45 to call .90 or 2:1 on your money with 4:1 against hitting the flush. Not good pot odds :(

I would have either folded (would be my personal choice here) or raised to try and get more information. In this case you probably would've been re-raised, and you'd have to lay it down.

Odds to call on the turn?

I agree with questioning the odds to call a flush draw on the turn. I'm not sure, but even with your Ace overcard, I think the odds are wrong...UNLESS you had reason to believe that this player might pay off more on the river if you hit your flush. Then there might have been reason to call.

Overall, I wouldn't criticize the play. I have played many similar hands the same way (which some would say is proof that your play was wrong). I sometimes just call on the river with a paired board and sometimes raise...it just depends on my feel/read for what my opponent has.

the point is that you chased a draw that developed on the turn (never a good idea) with the guy betting the pot into you with only a flush draw...i don't like a call here
it's just bad luck that the river had to be the Ks because obviously it both gave you the nut flush aswell as fill his full house.
