Do you think I should fold 10's here? I think this flop looked pretty safe. I think he could be playing any mid-pair here like 8's or 9's in the same way. I really don't think I played that bad. Maybe I should have raised more pre-flop but for pocket 10's this is about the best flop I could hope for. I probably should not have raised here all in but I really thought he had a mid pocket pair but never thought of the threes!! Argh!! I guess you will say I should call the re-raise and try to check it down but then what happens if he moves in on the river? maybe I could get away from it with the jack on the board. I guess I felt this was a very dry and safe flop and was afraid of some big cards coming down. If I had somthing like aces I'd just called till the river and shoved and the result would be the same but with 10's I just wanted to get a fold.

Don't post results if you want good comments.

I don't like to stack on the turn. Very few hands that you beat will play for stack there imo, while you'll get called by 33, 44, 77, 34, 56.

Personally, I'd check behind on the turn for pot control, then call a reasonable river bet or bet for value if checked again to me.

Anyway, the way you played it is not really horrible considering the effective stack size is only 60 big blinds.

BTW, playing 60 big blinds deep is a strange idea. Why don't you buy in for a full $5 ?

Well that's the funny thing at .01/.02 I usually buy in for the max because I want everyone covered but at .02/.05 I'm not that confident and if I bought in for the max then I'd be covered by most everyone else. See if I buy in at $5 at .01/.02 then I'll note everyone stack sizes and generally only 1 or 2 other players at a table will have me covered -- so I cover everyone else.

I chose to buy in at $3 because I multi-table and when I double up then that will be roughly 10% of my bankroll in play at a given table and I cash out of the table.

I'm not really doing that for short stack strategy which I've tried and don't like because I always lose money short stacking. My blog details all my play Light's Poker Blog

$3 limits my risk when I make a mistake but allows me to play all streets and draw to flush -- provided I reload which I do. Sure I'd like to have more money when I hit something big to cover people but oh well.

BTW yes I agree with your comments. That would be the way to play it for pot control. I was just more afraid of a high card coming off then a made hand.
