I'm playing a live tourney at my house this evening. There are 3 players left and these are the chip stacks.

Button.... $1,200
Sb...........$5,000
BB(ME).....$6,000

Blinds are $400/$800.

Button Folds'
SB Goes All in for $5000(total)
I look down(Remember I'm the BB, and the chip leader) and see:ad4: :10c4:

What should I do here?

Villian (SB) is the MOST aggressive player at the table and has been going all-in A LOT Lately. He's actually made a nice little comback with this strategy to be where he is at Now.

You've got well under 10BBs vs a megalomaniac with a solid ace shorthanded. Easy call in my eyes.

This pretty much completely depends on the payout places and structure.

$20 buy in.....10 players

1st = $120
2nd= $60
3rd= $20

Blinds are going up to $500/$1000 in 2 minutes and they go up every 5 minutes after that.

Assuming you racing and youll win outright if you win the hand.

Calling, you win 50% of the time and lose 50% of the time. Winning this hand assumes you win the tourney.
You win $20 50% of the time
You win $120 50% of the time. So a call would give you on average in this situation $70.

Folding, assuming the SB goes bust next and you get HU against the other big stack, and win 50%/lose 50% of the time.
You win $120 50% of the time and $60 50% of the time, for a net of $90

Basic stuff really, and over-simplified.

Fold.

I would fold but my reasoning is not a good one. Ever have hands that SEEM really good but you NEVER win with them. That's the way i fell about A, 10. I wouldn't risk nearly all my chips with A, ok kicker offsuit. Wait for a better hand to take him out with.
