3/5 NL cash game.

Everyone has 200-900 behind except me with 100. It's my second hand of the day. I'm in the small blind.

7 players limp. I call with (10s, 8s) getting 21.5 to 1 on my money hoping to catch a big flop and win a big pot. BB checks.

Flop 9 J Q rainbow.

I check planning to raise if I get a bet from early to middle position. Everyone checks to the button who bets $20.

(Since the bet came from late position I called expecting someone from early position to maybe try a check raise with top 2 pair or something with what he would expect to be my dead money in the pot.)

A player in early position raises to $70. A player in middle position calls, button raiser folds. I move all in for only a couple more dollars. Both players call.

Turn offsuit 6. Early position checks, middle position bets $100 more and early position calls all in.

I hope everyone followed that. I was tough because there were so many players in the pot.

Do you believe this hand was played correctly. If not, what changes would you make?

Really your only mistake is the fact that you only have $100. Imagine if you had $500? btw, by 3/5 do you mean 2/5 or 3/6?

Well there's a decent possibility of you being beat here by KT, but we've got to get our money in here. I don't see anything wrong with your play, but I don't like the fact that you're buying in for only 20BBs. Any reason for that?

I don't think we should really be fearing K 10 as much as just being drawn out to the king.

By 3/5 I mean exactly that. The casino I play at has a $3 SB. I think they're trying to encourage action from the SB since you get excellent odds in any limped pot.

I'm imagining buying in for more and I'm still not convinced. I buy in short on purpose. By playing tight it allows you to get a lot of loose action from players with weak hands and draws. And since I'm already all in on flop the flop, opponents aren't getting the correct implied odds to draw, making their loose calls poor ones.

I would have played it the same way you did, but if there was 2 hearts or some other draws out there i wouldnt have checked. But since you said it was rainbow, then you played it right.

You played it fine. If you feel that your a weak player buyin in short is also fine. If you feel that you have a significant edge, either player a smaller game or buyin for the max.

Well I don't exactly consider myself a weak player, but I'm trying to protect my bankroll. I don't have enough to comfortably buy in for the max, and there is rarely a 1/2 game at my home casino. If I bought in for the max a cold streak of 10 buyins and I'd be broke.

The laws are strange in Washington state. You can't have a bet over $25 in any cardroom in state jurisdiction. The indian casinos negotiated to make it $500 max bets, so that's where I play, but again 3/5 is the smallest game, and I don't have enough trust in the legitimacy of online poker to play at these stakes.

In case anybody was interested, and it doesn't look like it with only a few responses, I was up against KT in middle position and busted. I knew the guy had it after he confidently raised on the turn when a blank hit. I just wanted to know if anybody could have gotten away from it, but i didn't think so.

If I'd bought in for the full amount, I might have gotten away from it on the turn, but may have gone bust for a lot more. I can't really say for sure.
