Smells like ace-face or 2 diamonds to me. He bet or raised every chance he had after the flop with ace-jack and 2 diamonds.

Seems pretty standard to me - any reads/notes or PT stats on villain?

Not really any reads, just wondering if I should raised on the turn. I might have expected a bigger ace than AT to re-raise pre-flop.

He had KJ.

Raising the turn is spewing. Some portion of the time you're up against a flush draw or other weird combo, but without knowing that villain is able to 3-bet a flushdraw heads-up on the flop out of position, I wouldn't go there.

Entire hand is standard.

how is raising the turn spewing if you think he is on some type of combo draw, FP? if he 3-bets it, it nets you 2 more bets when he doesnt hit. I really don't think you're beat on this turn with this board very often the way the hand played out, the only way you're realistically behind is to A7, I don't think QJ or such would 3-bet this flop.

Which hands would 3-bet this flop?

Edit: I should really just get to the point instead of asking rhetoric questions. Sorry!

Unless we're up against a very erratic player - and they exist, so the possibility isn't 0 - there are very few hands that we are ahead against that he would 3-bet the flop with. However, the most likely such hand is a flushdraw, which some people - relatively few - actually would 3-bet with on the flop, heads-up and out of position. I think this is a bad play against someone who has shown strength on an a-high flop, but that's besides the point.

So why is raising the turn not good? Because of this:

1. Some portion of the time he's on a draw. He will most likely call the turn raise and then fold the river unimproved.

2. Some portion of the time he has a two-pair+ hand. We may get 3-bet when we raise (can you fold if you're re-raised on the turn?)

But getting value from a draw is good, right? Yes, except that a very large portion of the time, he will bet any river with his busted draw. He's invested so much money in this pot already that he virtually has to bet. That way, we still get our two bets worth of value without having to risk being 3-bet on the turn and forced to fold.

One bet says "I want the pot."
Two bets says "I've got something."
Three bets says "I've got something strong."
Cap says "Come to papa."

Would he really 3-bet the flop with A-5?
