Was gonna guess AK but you gave rsults too quicky :( The reason this is ak a lot of the time, is most people overbet shove with it to maximize fold equity from pairs lower than kings. Some people will play aces this way too, but I find thier more likely to make a smaller raise to try and get you potstuck, or call in position, and shove over your flop bet, if your 100+ deep that is.

At $25NL I find people will stack with the top four hands, A/K, Q/Q, K/K, and A/A. Substantially fewer will stack with A/K or Q/Q, but the fact that A/K comes up fairy often, some people spew and shove with even less (8/8 and stuff) makes it a call.

I'd probably be more afraid if made it $7 to go, as he'd be begging for a call or re-raise. You made a good call. Without a good read on him, it's a call every time.

1. take out your penis
2. pretending it is a microphone, yell "I'M READY FOR THE MONEY" into the tip
3. press go all-in
4. close your eyes
5. slowly massage your testicles for the next 4 seconds
6. look up and smile because you have more money than you had before!

Ahhhhhh . . . no wonder why it never works for me, I was skipping a step. Keep forgetting to massage my testicles. Thanks for the tip.

When i opened this thread to check the posts, i soon realised I hadn't actually considered we should be the outright winners of the pot.

Had a bit of a bad day yesterday an KK was not my best friend

Written as if I were first responder;

Your outrageous over bet looks as much like a small pair steal as anything else. Big stack could almost validly make his challenge with anything bigger than 88. He's the big stack after all, and can bully at will.

You can be sure he would call you out like this with anything above JJ.

I think you called, and it held up!:D

Now I will read all the truly valid replies.;)

I know you play mostly tourneys where it's more applicable, but this even holds for tourneys too. Once everyone else folds, the stack size of the big stack doesn't matter. If it's HU between someone with 20 BBs and someone with 30,000,000 BBs, the 20 is all that matters, because that's the most either can win and it's the most that'll go into the pot.
