What's your action on the flop here? Pot has been 4-bet preflop, you've flopped top set and have $15.25 left, pot is $19, villian is TAG 18/14/2. There are two of a suit on the board. Do you check for deception, make a small bet for value, or shove to protect your hand and/or hope villian will call with AA?

Stacks:

* tby25 with $40.30
* BTN with $58.85
* SB (hero) with $25.25
* BB with $60.35
* UTG with $25.00
* MP with $7.05

Bet $7, hopefully looks weaker than a check and induces shoves from worse (and obviously AK, KK).

I say check. AK/AA is stacking regardless, and betting will almost definitely shut QQ and worse out.

If he checks back I'm putting out suck bets on the turn and riv to get it in.

The pot's bigger than the stacks here, no reason to bet this flop. Just check and obviously get it in no matter what.

I feel exactly the same way. A villan who is pretty tight such as this could easily have JJ/QQ. Check looks weak, and may get a bet to come out. With a 4 bet preflop I want to put this guy on a nice PP.

Thanks, guys.

I thought a check would look suspicious after showing so much strength preflop, so shoved hoping he'd think I was overbetting with a lesser hand to get him off his. Didn't work; he folded.

Eh, oh well. Probably had a lower PP then.

If you shove and he has AK/ AA you are definitely $15 dollars richer though :D

Why? If you had QQ or JJ, you would play it the same way preflop and always check this flop. If you want to get any kind of action from worse than AK, then you need them to put you on something like JJ or less.

No one scared of the hearts? I am just asking. I feel I would have shoved here to avoid the possible flush.
Don't hit me too hard, lol
