It seems I've always been up against the stone cold nuts tonight. AK vs AA, set of 7's vs set of 8's and an Ace high flush against a straight flush. My luck has been impeccably terrible. But this latest blight is really bugging me.

How should I have played this differently? I put the guy on two over or the flush draw but clearly him flopping the full house wasn't even on radar of hand ranges.

Think this was just one of those oh well ...... happens.

I see nothing wrong with your play, just bad position. He probably placed you on a pair, saw you were betting and milked it. Probably would have done the same if it was me. For interests sake would you have called if he could have re raised you on the river?

I probably would have played slightly differently if he could have raised on the river since his SPR would have affected my original bets a tad. My goal was to get him committed with the range of hands I put him on since he was a shorter stack.

The Villains SPR was about 5 which put me in pretty good shape with Jacks on that flop. If he had 9+ SPR I would be a bit more hesitant after the initial call. Check + call turn and see what develops. Doubt I would be able to get away with it. It would depend highly on how he bet out the turn and river.

Nothing much you can do there. Hard to get away from those flops with an overpair.

Yeah, I think this guy was literally crapping his pants when he saw you were betting like a mad person...

"OMG OMG, she's betting and I have a full house, I WIN!!!"

But yeah, being first to act with that and his slow calling you...wrong place wrong time...

I didn't know you play .01/.02...I gotta find you and you can take MY money...:)

Playing the .01/.02 until the rest of my BR shows up in the mail from bodog. They take forever to send checks. Only deposited 100 bucks into pokerstars to hold me over until I can put the rest in and play the .10/.25. :D

Thanks for the responses everyone. I guess there really isn't anything I could have done. Damn overpairs!

"I guess there really isn't anything I could have done. Damn overpairs!"

Don't overvalue Jacks and create large pots with them. Save your money for better hands. In the late stages of tournaments, where people overvalue small pairs and weak Aces, Jacks are good hands for getting chips. But in a cash game and in the early stages of tournaments, I play Tens and Jacks like small pairs (weakly). You got overcards lurking all the time for race situations (54/46%) and worse when they're paired. A small pair 66-22 won't give you much action without a set. You might get lucky and have 77-TT pay you off IF the flop has no face cards AND they didn't make their set.
