I think this hand was well played. You made some big bet to not lose your straight but unfortunatly the cards turned in favor of the other player. He gave you a small int by betting bit amouts of money but it was still very difficult to fold

Seriously though, i had been at the table for about an hour. The game was very loose hence the call, only 50c after all.

I do see your point though.

Well, you shouldn't really have got into the nasty situation you found yourself in.

On the river you're only beating a bluff, and splitting at best otherwise unless the other guy is playing AQ horribly.

Edit: Tighten up in loose games. Yes it's only 50 cents preflop, but a hand like that can get you into awkward situations like the one you found yourself in (especially at loose tables) and you can end up losing a lot more than 50 cents, as you did. ;)

No, actually I would have folded after the river and the other player made that big bet. You missed the flush and all you have is two pair. Meanwhile, the other player made a big bet after the river card. I was a good move however when you raied after the flop.

tough one really

your losing to a higher straight or a boat

You may have been better off making bigger bet on the turn though.

I actually flopped a straight ( with a gut-shot straight flush draw) not that that makes my call any the better:withstupi

Fold preflop...however,

Two callers with your check-raise on the flop means you are up against a hand like two pair, a set, or a hand like KQ or Q-10 with some draws.

I'm tempted to check the turn with a Q coming which pairs the board making a possible full house. Your bet is more of a probe bet to see where you are at.

Checking the river is standard here with the low straight and the only hands you really are going to beat here are AQ or something like Q7 (which is probably unlikely). FOLD FOLD FOLD to the bet on the river. If you thought that you hand the best hand, you need to re-evaluate your game...
