irrespective of result, was I right to call this all the way, rather than raise? PF I was thnking UTG had AA(completely wrong in end) thats why i called the 3bet, and not 4betted.
Post flop, how was my play?, as hand went on, i figured utg would have bet harder with AA, but was worried about any 8something hand.

At 2NL you need to value bet the hell out of your big hands. Not playing for stacks here is really weak. Raise preflop and raise the flop, imo.

yeah, i guess, BG, it was only the 3rd hand of session, i had no reads on villian, and I didnt wanna lose my whole stack, purely because I havent got much br at PS, I only play 1c/2c for fun there, really.
You wouldnt be thinkin villain had AA from PF betting?

you will sometimes lose a stack preflop with KK vs. AA, but so many more times you will win against AK and QQ or JJ that it's a leak not to be ready to stack with kings.

^ah, ok, yeah I guess so, just never thought of it like that, my pessimistic mind always says they have AA when I have KK!
thanks BG, have a good day, and win big.

There are extremely few cases where you can put a villain on a single hand. 99.9% of the time you are playing against ranges of possible hands and need to play accordingly.

I think the only hand that you can sometimes recognize preflop (not at 2NL) is AK. It's the only hand that goes raise, faces a 3bet and then overbet shoves its 4bet because it hates to play postflop and tries to maximise its FE.

I would read that the utg had a pocket pair, but I would assume that wasn't aces, so I would call too

With KK you should have been the last to raise preflop, if that meant all-in preflop-so be it. You can't be afraid to play KK aggressive preflop, you are a big favorite.

I agree, always make a raise preflop with KK no matter how many other raisers are infront of you. This is the only way you could gather information . By just calling you really put yourself in a vice. If he had a hand like 88 or 99 you were DONE. if you make the big raise and get a caller, and an A flops and you get check raised all in you could get away from the hand. If you just call and then that A flops you have no idea what to do. Sometimes you just need to make a raise to find out where you are at , even if it means you may just have to kiss those chips good bye.

As everybody else is saying, I'd put in a raise on the flop, after that I might slow down on the turn and the river. You said you'd be afraid of an Eight-Something hand, so would I. But on the turn and the river, I think you did the right thing, because he certainly wasn't betting enough to force you out of the hand, so you had to call. Raise flop IMO

I disagree with how it was played preflop, and post flop. This board shouldn't be dangerous to kings, i would have raised. if i get reraised, then i might slow down a bit and try and see a showdown as cheaply as possible. If they have a set, bad luck.

yea this hand is an absolute trainwreck. why on earth are you trying to play pot control with KK w/ $2 because you are scared some random micro stakes donk might have AA?

Playing with scared money (not quite sure how you can be worried about losing $2 but ok) makes ppl play very poorly.

This hand is a very easy 3 bet to $1-call shove, shove flop if only flat called pf.

^feitr it was the fourth hand of my session(no reads), and that's a quarter of my br there, I just donk at PokerStars, ie play wierd hands PF like 84os etc.

The only thing I see i did wrong was no reraise PF, I was thinking if he did have AA and a King came on the flop, I could trap him, maybe convincing him/her I had AK?
