IMO, the play was fine.

Sitting down cold at the table, hard to tell what the ooponent might hold. No reads and no history. Best guess is a set of Q's at best, maybe 2 pair (J's and Q's ?). Now - if it was MY money - he likely had pkt Q's ...

and tonite's lottery numbers are: 3,6,11,32,45 and 59 ... :D

After he called the turn I knew he probably was slow playing a queen, so I wasn't going to put anymore money into the pot unless a Ace came. (my thinking anyways)

I think your play was fine, and I would put him on a queen for sure and possibly AQ which would split the pot. I don't think you lose this, at worst a chopped pot.

AQ wouldn't split, aces full of queens > queens full of aces, I did put him on something like AQ before the river, but that made it unlikely

Why open raise to 5-6x the BB with AA? If this is your standard preflop raise, stick to it. It will become obvious if you raise more with your biggest hands preflop.

As for the hand, its just a cooler, nothing you can do about it.

Yeah. Like Bw07507 said. With A/A you want to stick with what you've been opening with (plus an extra BB per limper). A sudden increase in bet size looks suspicious.

When I'm in a pot I'm almost always in for $1, as I expect to win and I want good value out of my winning hand.

I think Torqueguy should have popped it up to $2.50 or so pre-flop.

That $2.75 bet on the river screamed "Pay me off!" Quads is surprising. I'd have guessed he had A/Q.

Hmmm... surprised it wasn't MY hand and it was ME posting the thread. Like I said above "Now - if it was MY money - he likely had pkt Q's ... "

I would've thought QKs in playing it but since you posted it had to assume it was a quad story, tough luck there was no way to play it that wouldn't result in disaster. I like to get my money in with aces full.
