Did I play this hand too weakly?

$25 NLHE 9-handed.
I have $29 and I'm in late position. I get dealt Jc Js, it folds to me and I raise to $1.00 then the button and both blinds call pot=$4.00. Flop comes 7c 2d 8d, SB bets $0.25 then the BB calls and I raise to $3.25. The button folds, SB min raises, BB folds and I call. The turn is the 2c and he bets $5.00. I folded. $16 pot. Whats your opinions on this one?

Without knowing stack sizes and how tight/loose the other players are, I would be guessing at a small pocket pair that flopped trips and filled up on the turn. You probably could not have gotten him off the hand pre flop if he did have a pair that hit the board, and definitely not post flop. Don't suppose he showed did he?

YOu have an overpair on a board with low cards and two flush Draws. Makes it marginal with 4 people in the pot.

The SB either has a monster or is at very least representing one and making a very tricky overplay. The min bet is to induce further betting and the min re-raise is designed to keep you in but up the stacks.

I would fold ( on the flop min reraise) & make notes on player.

Exactly the same thing I thought caliban, I just could'nt see him going broke here with just top pair because he wasn't that bad of a player. I figured he hit a set or maybe limped from the blinds with 87.

You know you beat 78 right? Doesn't change much, but just so you know.

If I were a betting man Hmmmmmmmmmm Iam a betting man I would say he had small pair got a set then filled in good fold by you sometimes you just gotta lay em down .
