in your case, i probably would have made a medium sized pre-flop raise with AJ. this probably would have prevented people with a low pocket pair from staying in.
As I was reading the way the hand played out, i figured he had a set of 6's after the flop. well, either 66, or A6, but 66 was more likely since 2 aces were already out that you knew of.
on the other hand, you kind of got the shit end of luck. he was holding the only 2 cards that could beat you (other than AA, but obviously he wasn't holding that.)
so in hindsight, you should have raised preflop. and at the end, it should have been in the back of your mind that he could be holding 66, and i would not have raised him.
i have made the same mistake multiple times. when you see a hand in front of you like a face card full house, you tend to neglect the fact the other person might have a better hand. i think i lost my biggest hand to date on AAAJJ vs JJJJ, even though after it was over, i realized it was obvious what he held.
BUT.... that is what makes the game fun, right?
