I should have at least hit a big winner lately to somewhat balance this crap but it is just long shot after long shoe the past 2 or 3 weeks... Cash games are killing me and that is normally where I shine!

Hey XD, this shit happens all to often. Put a few bucks in royal vegas and we'll try to get that private cash game started. I myself am tired of SNGs and cash games with the crazies. It's rare to find a ring game without one or two loose cannons and that's all it takes to throw skill & strategy out the window. What I want to get going is a cash game that plays like our Noble buy-in, friendly but competitive poker played the way it should be. If I can convince a few of our faithful like you and Rammer (he's not a RVP fan) then I'm sure others will join us...

yeah I am actually going to pop in there in a few! Well dave I sat at your table 4 2 hours while I played .25/,5 NL on RV and no one showed. I see why you are frustrated. Well I made money at RV just can not get a winning session on Party if my life depended on it! Getting to the point that I just have no clue how to pull out of it. I used to swear by party poker but I am having a VERY hard time justfying what has been happening to me lately. NO MORE PP ring games for me I can't deal with it anymore, I won't bother posting anymore BS beats from there. I am going to need medication if I keep playing there......:thumpdown Actually I know what to do I need to go back to Limit an PL

Had similar this morning - KK low rainbow flop, bets called, beaten by runner runner flush (he had 10 high, so couldn't have got top pair as Q had flopped). He won $44, I lost 3rd had on the trot to river.
PS enter $20K bet365 freeroll tonight - 8PM GMT - no raked hands requirement, 1,000 paid places

It is frustrating all the time when something like that happens XD.

I know I have done the same thing before. Some people won't let go a draw even if the need runner runner to pick it up.

I think most already know I am a fairly conservative player. I agree with your strong bet on the flop. However, I am not sure I am comfortable with the turn bet. And definitely not the river all in.

Is this guy a big time calling station. If so you would have limited your losses to this idiot by only betting small here of even checking at least the river.

Sometimes it is about limiting your losses to someone who is playing the way this guy did.

If he is an aggressive player. Well, it's hard to get away from this hand. I would have at least checked on the river. Maybe he would have tried to make a smaller value bet and you could have saved some of your bankroll there. Hard to say since I don't really know how the person plays.

These tactics I am suggesting are not for everyone. However they have saved my a lot of money in the past. I don't see as much profit. But, I lessen my swings which keeps my game on track. You gotta do what works for you in the end.

Commited on the river, plus no way I could put him on a backdoor flush if anything I thought he had missed his flush, he was eithe ron a 4 flush or big pair I thought. No way I could be worried about a backdoor. Point is these things happen but they shouldn't be happening day after day after day for almost 3 weeks straight now with no decent wins to balance things out! I play A LOT of poker online and have never experienced a situation THIS BAD for THIS LONG! It is just Party Poker did fine on Royal Vegas last night no cards for 2 hours but won one big hand to have a winning session. Right now it is JUST Party that this crap is happening.

You argued your case very eloquently (!), but I would definately have played had the same way as Xdman. If you think you've got the best hand based on read of board and study of opponent, you've got to maximise winnings. He was 1/16 to win following flop (1/3 follwing turn), and was getting even money for each bet, and you're advocating he reduces / stops betting. Poker is a gamble, and the eventual outcome of the hand is irrelevant - if you've got correct odds you bet - long term you win (hopefully).

As a case in point, I played SnG yesterday, and had 3 5's. I thought from the board that I had best hand so bet on the river (hoping that someone with pair would come over the top). I was called by someone who had full house! (8's over 5's). If he had gone all in (or at least raised) I'd have definatley called, and he would have won considerably more. Although he didn't have the nuts, he must have thought he had the best hand - he didn't last much longer. Lack of agression in my opinion is just as bad as calling everything.

I would have played in much the same way as Xdman, too, but there are good chances to hit the last card needed for a flush, and therefore it might sometimes simply be best (unless you can afford something the other guy cant) to bet low if only him and you are in, while there is still a flush-draw possibility. (especially because so many people seem to be fishing for flushes online). Granted, this might reduce the amount you win from a triple or straight, but I have found that a lot of ppl who goes fishing like that will respond well to a low bet in the end, even if they hit nothing... Which always blows me away... :p
