No way was I not going all in on a boat the way the guy played. Was hoping he had trip aces with a high kicker. Personally I wouldn't have called with A7 with a raise but this is micro..

Not really, it's just one of those hands no poker player ever wants to get (second best)

I think you played it fine. He has trips with the other card being 8 or higher the majority of the time, and you just happened to run into the exception when he has a full house

You got your cash in with the best hand... from what I'm learning, you should be happy, even though you lost... because if you look at poker in LONG TERM you know that of course your boats are going to get beat here and there... but look at how much of a favorite you were there (about 75%, maybe more) so that means over the long term if you keep getting your money in, in that situation you will win 75% of the time... You did the right move, and if you keep making that right move you'll make money... although this one time happened to fall into that 25% range.

I still agree that it sucks.. and if it makes you feel any better you can curse the guy out and say "F*$K, HOW MUCH OF A DONKEY ARE YOU!? ISN'T IT OBVIOUS I HAVE A BOAT!?! JACKA#%"... that seems to ease the pain a bit.

Someone at a table at MGM last week was mad at the way a played a similar hand. I had pocket Q's at a 3-6 limit table. There were 4 players involved, I was on the button, and betting was capped preflop (I re-raised when I could). The flop came A-A-Q, so again, betting was capped, the turn was a 10. One player folded and betting was again capped. The river was a Q (giving me quads with an A kicker). I raised and the other two called. One guy had pocket 10's, the other an A-K.

So, someone (not involved in that hand) went off about how I could play that hand as strongly as I did, as after the flop and turn there were a few hands that could have beaten me and everyone else was raising. As I see it, you have to play those hands. Sure someone could have had Aces, or A-10 and the river could have been something else, but what are the chances? I am willing to lose a big pot every now and then because in the long run you will get the percentages.

?? On the flop only two hands beat you AA or AQ... the turn only adds 1 more hand that's beating you A10. Please please tell me you stole pots from this man every hand he played in.

I don't really see it misplayed. I would had forced him all in on the flop, but he wasn't going to fold unless he was crazy and you would had lost anyway so either way its played your going to lose, and either way it would had been played right IMO.

I finished the night well ahead (+$250). The guy was a tool, probably had his "Poker for Dummies" book under the table.

Fold pre-flop. The pre-flop raiser doesn't have anything near a full stack and you're out of position anyway.

i would have played it the same way. sometimes, you just get bad luck, but i agree w/the person who said you wanna get your $ out when you have the best hand and the highest odds of winning. you get a bad beat now and then, but you'll take his money over time.

I would have played it exactly like that... You flopped a monster, well played m8, with a bit of a bad luck

I have had the same flop more than once and i've lost half of the time, but you have to understand people wont fold their trips, a normal player wont, not even knowing theyre outkicked.

Best regards
