I've been trying to get more value out of my premium hands. I thought he might have the straight or something like 2 pair. I felt he was going all in and then he stopped. Should I have went all in on the river or maybe bumped my raise up more? I was concerned about other boats. I typically don't min-raise. I guess I was just being too lazy to type in a value. Maybe on the re-raise I should have raised $1 or went all in?

I will give you my reasoning why I played the way I did:

* I limped with the ace because aces are strong in short handed play and by limping if anyone had a bigger hand I could fold. I'd also have some stealth.
* I raised only 3 cent because I felt it unlikely I was up against anything 2 dangerous and I had 2 callers to act behind me. I thought I could get both to call. Unfortunately the other player didnt call.
* I raised 8 cent because the possibility of a straight became more likely and I wanted to start protecting my hand but not scare out a potential draw. I didn't know he made his hand this street.
* The final raise on the river was rather small. This was like my first hand against him. I thought the straight was a possibility but was really concerned about another boat. I also thought 2 low pair was a good possibility. I thought if I went all-in then no way 2 low pair would pay me off. If I had known he had the straight then I would have got payed off but 10 cent is rather small bet for a straight. I was more likely to put himo n 2 pair.

You've got to stack someone that hits a straight against a full house 3 handed. Taking just 70 cents or so is a disaster. Your reason for limping pre-flop is contradictory "strong hand, which i can fold". by not raising here, you've now only got a 12 cent pot to work on.

post flop, 3 cent bet is way, way too small. If they haven't hit the flop, they will fold, if they have they'll call much more - 9c 10c at least. Every street, you are betting too small into a pot that is too small because you didn't bet enough the previous round. I'm surprised you only got called in the end, he probably knew something was up, as you never took the chance just to call, but you could have bet much more on the river as well. Pretty bad, sorry.

raise pre. you better define your opponent's ranges (as in when they 3bet you, you probably know to fold, when they call the raise you can have a more specific idea of their holdings. if you just limp-call, you have no idea where you're at in the hand). please bet more on the flop, like 2/3rd the pot at the very least. same story on the turn, bet more.

and dude, once he min3bets you on the river he's like never folding. he's basically saying "i love my hand, please take all my money." you were "really concerned" about another boat? what? you have the 2nd nuts. you beat every boat (and hand) but A9

cliffnotes: bet like a man, you're missing value everywhere

Yes, you probably lost value. The only other boat that could challenge would be A9, and in situation like this a good player would expect to go broke against that very remotely possible hand.

You've got the second nut boat, and someone who has something he thinks he can contend with. Dream scenario. Either the straight hit, or a 9's full boat hit, or more likely, someone was calling what he thought was a bluff, while holding a pair, or maybe 2 pair.

Dream scenario.

I find that players usually call big bets on the river if they're calling at all. There's no more drawing, so if they think their hand is best, it doesn't matter how much you bet. The exceptions are hands they don't think are best most of the time but you give them odds to look you up. In this case, his opening bet shows a strong interest, so I'd pop it up to about $0.80. Then if he decides to 3-bet you, he totally pot committed.
