I've been trying to get more value out of my premium hands. I thought he might have the straight or something like 2 pair. I felt he was going all in and then he stopped. Should I have went all in on the river or maybe bumped my raise up more? I was concerned about other boats. I typically don't min-raise. I guess I was just being too lazy to type in a value. Maybe on the re-raise I should have raised $1 or went all in?
I will give you my reasoning why I played the way I did:
* I limped with the ace because aces are strong in short handed play and by limping if anyone had a bigger hand I could fold. I'd also have some stealth.
* I raised only 3 cent because I felt it unlikely I was up against anything 2 dangerous and I had 2 callers to act behind me. I thought I could get both to call. Unfortunately the other player didnt call.
* I raised 8 cent because the possibility of a straight became more likely and I wanted to start protecting my hand but not scare out a potential draw. I didn't know he made his hand this street.
* The final raise on the river was rather small. This was like my first hand against him. I thought the straight was a possibility but was really concerned about another boat. I also thought 2 low pair was a good possibility. I thought if I went all-in then no way 2 low pair would pay me off. If I had known he had the straight then I would have got payed off but 10 cent is rather small bet for a straight. I was more likely to put himo n 2 pair.
