I had K and J suited and called $1 bet in No limit Holdem online game pre flop

Was this right decision?

The other guy eventually won with pair of Ks

This was on $0.05/$0.10 table.

I don't have big bankroll and $1 is a big bet for me

If this is true, then you are playing at the wrong limits. You should do a search here for bankroll management and see what you could be doing to better maximize your bankroll.

Edit: You may also want to read: Building Your Bankroll, found in our Articles section.

It's too bad you didn't have KJ not suited, as this is Bill Fillmaff's signature hand.

If $1 is a big bet for you (ten times the big blind) at a .05/.10 table, I can't see that calling a $1 bet with that hand makes much sense unless the better has been shown to be a maniac who would bet anything.

You'd have to guess that the bettor has a pocket pair or A-good kicker, in which case you are just hoping to get a lucky flop.

I would also say more information is needed. But, on the surface I would say it is an easy fold. Even in late position KJ suited is a shaky hand at best. Maybe a minimum raise is worth the call if the person has been playing a lot of hands. Any more than that and it's an easy fold.

Agreed with most of the above. From the little information given, I'm assuming that you overvalued the hand. KJ suited is not that great of a hand, and it's most likely dominated. Of course the guy who bet $1 could be very loose, aggressive, or a maniac, but without knowing any of those reads, I'd say let it go.

Thanks for all the feedback

Here are more details about the hand
I didn't really have a read on my opponent. I don't know if he is loose, tight or pyscho player.
It's hard to be able to have read on players online I find. Too many players to keep track of.
I did some analysis using the poker odds Calculator.
If my opponent had pocket aces, I had 17% chance of winning
If he had pocket kings, I had 16% chance of winning
If he had pocket queens, I had 37% chance of winning
If he had pocket jacks, I had 33% chance of winning

Yeah, I think I should have folded.

The way I think about it is, would I make such a raise myself with this hand? If the answer is "no", then fold. Why let someone else raise the stakes for you?
KJ isn't a raising hand btw.
However I sometimes call raises if both myself and the raiser are deep stacked, usually with a pocket pair or medium suited connectors, in case you get hit trips, 2 pair or a monster draw on the flop, and you can expect to make more than 8 times what it cost you to call (you'll only hit trips 12% of the time).
In this case you're not deep stacked so it's a big fold.

KJ is pretty much useless really preflop - so if ever facing a raise of several times the big blind just dump it.

Always try to think what am i beating? KJ = not a lot

Usually this size of raise would indicate a huge hand (as here) or complete lunatic trying to steal the blinds.

As he was putting all his chips in on this one hand you would have to guess he was holding something.

Stay patient and keep enjoying it
