The all-in bet I was actually getting odds to call, was the raise to $13 a mistake after seeing a check-raise? Should I have flat called there? I raised because of the flush draw out there, don't want them getting in cheap with the flush draw, but maybe since there was a raise and not a call I can assume he's not on a flush draw? After the final shove I figured either something like AKh, which I did NOT want to see, or perhaps AQ, 9Th, or of course the hands that had me dominated, a set or a 2-pair as in this example. I needed to price out draws, which pot committed me. Did I just get unlucky here with the over pocket vs. 2 pair or could I have somehow minimized the damage here?

- Leave out results next time.
- With a limper ahead, raise slightly more pre-flop you can get away with $1-$1.25 lots of the time.
-Call after you get raised on the flop and re-evalute on the turn, you let the betting get out of controll here, and considering hands like QJ, straight draws, flush draws, JJ, QQ are all possible holdings you need to proceed with caution. I call the flop and attempt to reach showdown cheaply, its not a nice board to be playing for stacks on

What tb said, plus I'd like to add that AKs and AQ will very rarely limp-call preflop and stack that flop.

the key here is pot control.

Well, this one's a bitch because the cards that come down aren't scare cards. So even if you take a pot control line, you probably won't save much, if anything. By the river, it's still mostly a question of "does he have 55 or QJ?" (although possible KhTh or Th8h).

But in general, yeah I like just calling the flop. If he bluffed the flop with a draw, then he may bluff the turn (OOP) if he doesn't hit. Plus, you can probably fold to a river bet if he has you beat/gets there.
