The opponent is a tight player, do you think I could have played this differently to get more value out of it?

Nope dont think you could have gotten any more value out of this. Looks like he was set mining against you with a medium/small pair. I dont know why you would want to check a flop like this, you have a hand that need a little protection, its simply not strong enough to slow play..

Yup, he could have called with a hand like JTs and you're giving him free odds to draw for the straight. Quite possibly was a PP, same deal you're giving him odds to draw to the set. Now obviously after the turn you'd love for him to catch the set on the river.. but on the flop you just have TPTK. Definitely throw out a bet on the flop to give your opponent bad odds to draw.. then if they do call, well that's money in your pocket. Anywho, slowplaying only works in very specific situations.. flopping TPTK 7-handed is not one of them.

If he hits a set on the river he has a full boat and beats your trips

why would we want him to catch a set on the river?

all we have is trip kings?

i think the only extra value you would have got from the hand would be a continuation bet on the flop then he would have folded the turn bet anyway, it's hard to get value out of a hand when your opponent has K high unfortunatly.

i would have continued betting trying to get him out before he hit the str8 but ,we now see you wouldnt have got much more but he may have had many outs to bet you and you let him draw free with weak hand.
