Villain is pretty loose and somewhat aggressive (58/10/3), though I neglected to check that before I got in the hand with him.

His bet was an insta-bet. Sign of a hand made on the river?

that was a pretty shitty card for us. although this looks like a card that saved us a ton of money (could have easily flopped 44/q9/9Th)

You think he was just playing rope-a-dope?

When this bet came out, the first thing that came to mind was something in another thread, I think it was one of Mr Sticker's about the opponent bluffing on the river with the big bet.

i dont think it's that bad of a call at these limits against someone who you has badly applied aggression.

In my experience, the check-call check-call shove/big lead line is reaaaally often a big hand. Sometimes it will be a flush draw that missed here, but I think I lean towards a fold without a good read on how likely that is.

ok

there is not enough in the pot to make this "crying call", I think we can wait for a better spot against a player like this.

wish I could add more but you played it fine.

It was a fast table, so I used my 30 seconds. Looked back at the cards and figured, there's enough of a chance he's called me down with a straight draw even though I didn't give him odds to do so. He hadn't done anything like this during my time at the table so far.

Lacking any other info, I figured better to fold this one, and see if he makes these kind of bets again. He didn't but left the table not too long after.

Meh, looks like a bluff, I call... but then I have sick ninja ESP skills.

BTW why are your bets so tiny?

Good point. I was gonna say, whadya mean, tiny? and then I looked at them.

The only explanation I have is I was tilting a bit having lost a couple hands before this, and, I know I was playing abnormally tight/afraid as I was planning to send this session for review.

After losing another $10 or so I realized I wasn't playing my game and left the table. Have already won that back and more today with some fun fish targeting.

I would fearing that he could even he the straight on the river the K-J don't think he'd have J-8. My decision would be to fold the hand.
