Hey i dont have PT or anythign like that so i am going to explain a hand the best i can and would like some advice plz.

There are 7 people in a ring .05/.10c ring game and i am utg. and have AJo i raise to .30 and it folds around to the button and they raise me up to .65c. everyone else folds and it is to me. I folded. I had no read on the person. There stack was aroudn $10 compared to my $5 stack about the 30th hand at the table and i bought in with $2 trying to play a low stack game. Would you have called or folded like i did, and why plz? or maybe you would have raised.

Hi

First off...you don't need poker tracker to post a Hand. You can request your Hand History from the site you were playing at, they will then e-mail it you. Then simply copy and paste it to the converter tool provided by CC and voila...

Anyways from what I could gather I usually fold AJ in EP. My reasons being are simple, your first to act with only a semi-decent starting hand. You have like the whole table following behind you. How good does AJ look when its raised behind you?, or if like 3 people call? AJ is a decent hand in LP but being first to act puts you in a terrible situation to play out the rest of the way, just muck it...at the lower limits in FR you wanna keep it tight in EP. I will usually play 99+, AQs+ when I am UTG...

:dito: Actually, what Boomswitch said is pretty much the reasons to muck A-Jo, however, when in EP (UTG-UTG+1) it's not a bad idea to raise (3Xs BB) with A-Js+--A-Qo+--T-T+--and limp 2-2 to 9-9. BUT in MP1-MP3 you could raise with A-Jo+. The later the position, the stronger most broadway connectors get. And try to remember what it is the the players before you are doing (raising from what position they're in or limping from those positions also. This strategy is a bit more LAG than Boom's.

At a table with 7 people, you're basically playing 6-max+1. AJ is ok to raise with UTG in this situation.

Now, someone three betting an UTG raise from the button is trouble, especially since he he's probably not adapting to the smaller table (IE, he's still playing a full ring game). Without a read on the guy I don't want to mess with him when I'm out of position.

It'd be nice if you had specific stats on the guy. But if he seems solid, I'd fold.
