I haven't got to play much lately, but just before I had to break I got my roll up enough to finally get going at $25nl. It went well for about 30 minutes. At first I was writing stuff off to beats and variance, but I'm thinking I have some serious fundamental errors going on. Here are hands that I played today where something close to a stack changed hands. If people who know what's up with $25nl could take a look at these and tell me just how stupid I am, that'd be great, lol. Just make sure to let me know how I'm stupid. I already get that I'm doing something terribly wrong, and I have some inklings as to what, but I'd like to get some input.

*Hands in order they occurred*

HAND #1

BB ($29.45)
UTG ($35.85)
MP ($23.90)
Hero (CO) ($26.90)
Button ($23.10)
SB ($27.30)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q
diamond.gif
, J

2 folds, Hero raises to $1, Button calls $1, 2 folds

Flop: ($2.35) 8
heart.gif
, 9
spade.gif
, 9
club.gif
(2 players)
Hero bets $1, Button calls $1

Turn: ($4.35) 10

(2 players)
Hero bets $1.75, Button calls $1.75

River: ($7.85) 7
spade.gif
(2 players)
Hero bets $23.15 (All-In), Button calls $19.35 (All-In)

My logic for the shove is basically, I'm praying he has a naked jack that he'll call this shove with, or even possibly he'd hit hard and has trips which could also call a shove.

Total pot: $46.55 | Rake: $2.30

HAND #2

Hero (SB) ($27.50)
BB ($25.70)
UTG ($13.25)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A

(3 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $0.50, 1 fold, Hero raises to $1.50, MP calls $1

Turn: ($4.75) K

(2 players)
Hero bets $1.50, MP calls $1.50

River: ($7.75) Q

(2 players)
Hero bets $5.25, MP raises to $10.50, Hero raises to $24 (All-In), MP calls $6.50 (All-In)

I hit what at the time I took as a great river, while really it didn't change much. I'm still behind AK, still ahead of all aces except A7/A4 which the queen did in fact make a difference for. I'm used to villains stacking off with hands like AJ, even AT here, and I mistakenly felt increased confidence with the arrival of the queen, which played a big part in going for his stack.
Total pot: $41.75 | Rake: $2.05

HAND #4

SB ($27.80)
BB ($27.40)
Hero (UTG) ($25)
MP ($27.75)
Button ($27.20)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A
heart.gif
, A
spade.gif

Hero raises to $0.75, 2 folds, SB raises to $2.75, 1 fold, Hero calls $2

I've been almost NEVER getting called when I 4bet, and have seen people having success by flatting then playing after the flop. I decide to take that line, but then have what I perceived as a terrible flop for my hand, as I'm giving most players a lot of credit for 3bets at these stakes. Now two of the hands solidly in his range are ahead of me, but AQ/AK holdings and JJ are still behind.

Flop: ($5.75) K
heart.gif
, 6
club.gif
, Q
diamond.gif
(2 players)
SB bets $4, Hero calls $4

Turn: ($13.75) Q
club.gif
(2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

River: ($13.75) 10
spade.gif
(2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $9, SB raises to $18, Hero raises to $18.25 (All-In), SB calls $0.25

When he checks the turn Q, and the river I'm thinking he's got a pair like JJ or maybe did pair the king but was scared of the queen. I decide to try and get some value on this river. When he raises me, I just couldn't see a fold, and put the rest in.
Total pot: $50.25 | Rake: $2.50

HAND #5

BB ($27.25)
UTG ($61.35)
MP ($25.95)
CO ($25)
Hero (Button) ($25)
SB ($45.15)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 7
diamond.gif
, 7

UTG raises to $0.50, MP calls $0.50, CO calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.50, 1 fold, BB calls $0.25

Flop: ($2.60) 2
club.gif
, 8
club.gif
, 7
club.gif
(5 players)
BB checks, UTG bets $2, 2 folds, Hero raises to $8, 1 fold, UTG raises to $14, Hero raises to $24.50 (All-In), UTG calls $10.50

Here I'm thinking this is looking like an overpair with a club, or maybe something like AK/AQ with a big club, so try to get the money in while he thinks he's got a shot.

Turn: ($51.60) 6
diamond.gif
(2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($51.60) K

Without going into detail on everyhand I would say most of them are fine. 1,3,5,6 all just coolers, in 2 you are correct the Q changes nothing so I probably am not raising there, but only 6 behind anyway so no big deal, 4 is an interesting hand and without more info its hard to say but Im probably raising flop here.

Some of your bet sizes are too low, especially reraises and the like but overall no glaring leaks.

Thanks a lot man, I really wasn't sure if I was hitting coolers or if I should have gotten away from hands like that. That's why I didn't just post one hand ice, it wasn't a particular hand that I had issue with, but if I was in general getting it in too light or not.

Fwiw, I lost every hand except #2, thx again!

Lol, why? I specifically stated the reason for posting them as a unit. Why spam the forum with 6 posts to attempt and extrapolate the information I desire, when I can just post it as I did?

Thanks for the helpful input too, very useful post by saying +1

Lol, why?

Because if we start commenting on each hand it will become a mess.

Anyway, if you want a generic answer, here it is. Most of them are coolers. Bet sizing is a bit timid in early streets. Shoving river with a hand that is neither the nuts nor air is spew. Sets in big multiway pots are not really monsters, that's why i prefer raising pocket pairs for isolation instead of limping along/flatting a min-raise after several people flat.

Now this is something I think OP was initially looking for and you gave him the best answer that fit all situations.

Yeah, exactly. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough in my op. But generic is exactly what I was looking for, and thanks for the reply :)

generic is exactly what I was looking for

if you want generic, you should also post your stats here. Quite often leaks are not in the big pots your remember but in how you play all the smallish pots in between. And that shows up in the stats.
