That was way to much money to stick around on a crappy draw. Some people, even with money are stupid. But he did win. Leaves a nasty taste in your mouth don't it?

This guy really got under my skin and I never got another shot at him before he left but oh well...... One hard core suckout and a perfectly timed bluff that gets CALLED and see ya later 90 bones......I could have fired harder on the turn but oh well heat of battle I think I played it ok.

Ugh. That's sickening, truly. I knew caught his flush on the river when he led out betting. But the thing is, not only did the tard make horrible calls the whole time, his flush was pathetic! Who the hell holds on to 5/7 after a preflop raise? Oh wait! I forgot! --------------------------->>

It was SUITED!!!!!!!! :puke:

Eh? Crappy draw? - open ended straight and flush draw? 15 outs with 2 cards to come? The opponent was favourite - 55.4% against Xdman's 43.7%. He shouldn't have been in the hand in the first place, but did nothing wrong staying in post flop.

No Rob,

I think it was an inside straight draw and a baby flush draw. I certainly would not go losing all my cash for that draw, but he did and won, so maybe im wrong.

God, I hate it when someone says i'm wrong, and I actually go and check whether I had made a mistake! You'd think by now I would know better than to doubt myself!!!

It was an open ended straight draw - opponent had 5 and a 7, board showed a 6 and an 8, so any 4 and any 9 would make straight. And as for catching "baby" flush, on betting patterns and the fact that he's only against 1 opponent, I wouldn't be worried about a bigger flush (unless of course there were runner runner diamonds). I think opponent was right to chase (as I said he was favourite), but he shouldn't have called Xdman a clown (unless of course XD said some stupid shit first like he shouldn't have called!).

This wouldn't be a call I'd make but I rarely chase draws as I never seem to catch. I guess you're supposed to fold pocket kings according to this poker master...

Well assuming i'm the "poker master" you kindly referred to, I dont think Xdman made a mistake in pushing the hand as he did - if he was up against a flush draw, then he wasn't giving his opponent the correct odds to call. What I was saying is (and what I don't think Xd or the 3 posters that posted after berating the guy for crappy chasing realised), if you have a flush draw AND an open ended straight draw, then you are favourite to win post flop. After turn XD was favourite, but opponent still had correct odds to call - he wasn't lucky to win, he just followed the odds.

No Rob, I was actually referring to the guy that called XD the clown.

This exact situation happens to me nearly every time I have a premium pocket pair and more often than not the folks on the draw catch. All you can do is push and hope the cards are kind. This is one reason I've been playing more post-flop than pre-flop as you can guarantee at least one of your callers is on the draw and if a suited or str8 flop comes you can lay down without crippling your chip stack. I'm not sure what limits you have to play to get folks to respect pre-flop raises, but I haven't found them yet.

I was referring to the very low flush draw. I didn't even see the strait draw. Thanks for pointing that out. After the flop he did have a butt load of outs.

Brianna C, i'm positively shaking with rage over here. Did you delete the U out of "favourite" in my post? Tell me the computer did it (my finger is poised over the "do not approve" button - i'm not kidding, i'll leave you negative feedback for that!).

p.s ;)

He should have never called with 5, 7 suited! Maybe you should have raised more pre-flop.

For the most part I avoid reading the Hand Anaysis threads. Not because I don't enjoy it, but because there's rarely anything to analyse. Self glorification, maniacal bad beats, same ol' same ol'. The one exception I make is your's XD. Why? They confuse me. They make me think I that maybe I just don't get it. Here's the MO. XD gets dealt monster hole cards. He over bets the pot. Maniac calls. He overbets the flop, Maniac calls, He overbets the turn, Maniac calls. He overbets the river, Maniac goes all-in, XD calls. Maniac wins with trip 3's he picked up on the river or in this case a flush.

Then the fun begins. His loyal fans all chime in on how big a maniac Maniac was and that this sort of thing happens. "That's Poker!".

I on the other hand keep wondering why nobody else is wondering if XD ever wonders if it's possible that Maniac may actually have a hand better than a pair of Kings. The fact that Maniac made his hand on the river is irrellavant.
I just don't get it. I just would never take a pair of kings this far. Am I a chump?

Fair enough this one wouldn't have been put here except this genius told me I don't how to play.... I knew he was drawing and I tried to make him pay as much as I could to get him to do so.... Now would expect me to fold on the river? FourDogs

Now the flop numbers..... 13 outs 9 or 4 for a straight is 6. 4 flush draw is 9. 9+6=15-2(can't count 9,4 of diamonds twice)=13 2 cards to come1.08:1 river is 2.54:1.... How was he a favorite again?

Me too, but only at a price. I consider it a leak in my game. Even so I would have to be damn sure my pair was good to make this call, particularly with a 3 flush showing.
