Actually, you're missing what I think is a real likely hand - A7 or K7, possible the high-card a spade. He limps pre-flop from UTG (like weak aces often do), calls the flop with 2nd pair, checks the turn because he didn't improve, and raises the river (if you hit trips, wouldn't you?).
In any case, he didn't play this hand like he had 67/77/78 (two pair or trips before the river) - all of those hands should have bet or raised the flop and/or turn to push out flush draws.
I don't think I can put him on any hand better than yours, so it's a call without any regrets. Most of the likely hands (flush on the turn, flopped straight, or trips on the river) would have played this hand the way he did, so the range I can put him on is beaten by your hand.
