I just got felted at the cardroom. I was so mad, I didnt even bother buying back in. I would be tilted, and not play well if I did.
I am UTG +2. About $250.
UTG +1 $160
UTG raises preflop to $16 ($1/$2)
I look down at As-Kd, I contemplate raising, but I just flat call because I dont want to open door for reraise.
UTG bets $35
I think, and based on UTG's table image, I think I am way ahead. The FD worries me.
I raise to $70.
UTG Reraises to $120.
INSTA-call from UTG.
UTG announces "flush" and rolls over Ac-4c.
Yesterday I got sucked out twice just like this, but I didn't get felted.
Today I got felted.
I would never play like this. I rarely make a flush draw, let alone play it like it's the nutz.
I would estimate That I actually make a flush draw in a similar spot 1 in 7, and the odds
are actually better than that. I just never get flush draws. I won't chase them unless I am getting 5:1 pot odds
This girl just plays like she already has the flush. Raising OOP with Ac-4c, then paying $200+ to chase the draw. I just think UTG played the hand terribly from start to finish, but she is rewarded by turning the nut flush.
Am I wrong? Was she correct? I would never raise OOP with A-4 suited or not... But people run these flushes down on me so often, I am starting to wonder if I don't know what the heck I am doing....
I already observed she raised some questionable hands OOP. She raised A-J off for like $25 preflop. I consider that a little loose OOP. But what do I know. Maybe nothing.
Constructive criticism would be appreciated. Did I play the hand wrong? I had a good read, and I was pretty sure the best she had was A-K, and we may be chopping. But I did consider the flush draw. I think I played the hand correctly, and I would do the same again. I really need to know how I should have played this differently if possible.
P.s. UTG was transparent with her bet sizing. Bigger raise Preflop=better cards. I was correct in my read.
