6Max, late night game 4 limpers into the pot. $25nl

Hero stack $18
Villain stack $18

Already have notes on villain "incapable of folding flush draw"

Hero holds As 3d

flop 2h 4h 5c

check
check
Villain bets $1
hero raises to $4
fold
fold
Villain calls $4

Now a 2 way pot

I put the Villain on flush draw or 3x

Turn Qd

Villain checks

Hero bets $7

Villain calls $7

I am 95% sure he has a big flush draw

River 2c.

Kind of a scare card for a full house, but doubtful.

So, i shove my last couple of dollars in and he calls showing me a busted nut flush draw Ah6h.

Comments on my play please.

Maybe. But i didnt know he had a flush draw until i bet $7 and he called on the turn.

When i re raised on the flop he might have had K5/A5 no flush draw. He would have folded to an all in.

I think you played it well and wouldn't change a thing. A larger turn bet would have been OK, too, if you were pretty sure he had a flush draw he wasn't giving up. I'm amazed he called on the river with nothing but A high after you'd shown strength all the way.

I think he probably called to make sure i had the better hand, out of curiosity more than anything else.

You played it perfectly; you observed your opponent and exploited his weakness. I don't really see the point in this thread "did I play ok?" well you got all your money in with the best hand, what more could you have done?

um i try to always shove when there is flush possibility on the board..but my luck the person feels extremely lucky or is a complete donk..and always calls..once i went all in with a set on the flop pocket Js..J was highest card on the board..one guy called because he had a flush draw and of course he hits it on the river..

I agree. A shove on the turn made sense. But i dont think do on the flop, in case a turn card hit on the turn. I am happy to shove with only one card to come.

And 90% of flushers play it the same way anyway. If he hit his flush on the turn. He checks it then goes all on the river.

RE my play

I was more wondering if it was ok to shove the river when the board paired. Im certain i have the winning hand so what do you guys do? check and hope he pushes his last few dollars in as desperation. or do what i did and shove first and hope he calls?

shute if you already had notes on him then you knew the deal right? I wouldn't feel bad 1 bit it's a game for money not a friendly neighbor thing ya know you did the right thing in my opinion heck he should have folded when he didn't get the flush.

he played the hand wrong n got lucky i cant do anything about that the fundemental theorem of poker stats that if your opponent playes hes cards differently if he could see yours you gain.. you gained because i raised and called with easily the worst hands and not getting the odds to call
