Feel free to criticize my play here. I was playing a little more aggressively at this table, which was full of tight, loose, and somewhere in-between players. The Villain in question was playing fairly tight, fairly solid poker over a small sample of hands (This was only like the 15-20th hand I had played there, and first encounter with him)

I personally like my play up to the turn. I put him on AK, maybe KQ on this hand. The diamond on the river was a little scary, however if my read was correct it only helped him. However, I decided to take the c/c line on the river. Good call/bad call? Thoughts?

bet more on flop

bet more on turn

i probably b/f river, maybe b/c agaisnt certain opponents

as played, call, villain shows up with as weak as a bare ace here enoguh imo, he raised UTG, which if he has any sense he would be doing with nothing, so the only flush draw that makes sense is the nut flush draw which obv didnt get there since the ace hits river, so ye i call

What's a good bet on the flop then? more like .90c?

Which would set up a bet of like 2-2.50 into a pot of what would be 3 on the turn?

You play as well. He does not see you on the set. I think he has AK or KQ. You can call. :)

You didn't bet nearly enough on the flop or turn. An A/K will often pay off against trips when an A or K hits, but you have to get all their money in the pot before showdown. You had 7 dollars, so you'd need to make at least a close to pot-sized bet on the flop to get it all in by the river if they keep calling. On this board you also run the risk of a 3rd diamond hitting. A 3rd diamond hitting gives them either a better hand, or scares them away from calling a big bet if they don't.

Catching a set against a higher set with no early & obvious flushes/straights to keep the higher set scared is usually going to get you cleaned out. Nothing you can do about it generally. The weak bets might've saved a couple bucks in this hand, but in the long run they will earn less than stronger bets.

Switch covered it but I will add if you are going to set mine you should be looking to get it in when you hit your set. You have less than 100bb here you should be all in by the Turn on this hand, imo.
