€20 NL HE 6-max: €20 NL HE 6-max: valuebet or not?

A) I usually play €10 NL HE 6-max but felt like going up one level without risking too much. That's why I'm not in there with 100 BB.

25 hands into the game and I had already made some moves at the table to get my stack up (especially defending my blind). My image of him was that he looked like a pretty solid player with a decent holding.

Stacks
Christopah (€17.21)
Luckyfosho (€22.35)
Farlog (€32.15)

I admittedly am still learning the game but I would probably check here. While there are a lot of hands you are ahead of here (missed draws) the call on the turn strikes the fear of 2 pair into me....

If your read of him is, as you say, "a pretty solid player with a decent holding" I would avoid losing more chips or getting check raised by a set of 4 or 5's or a worse K that made 2 pair.

I'll be interested to see what others have to say.

Also, post number 200!~

I v-bet here with a quickness. There's all sorts of trash that you beat, and he should be calling down light since all the draws missed.

And buy in full. If you can't afford to buy in for the max, then you should probably move down. The variance isn't determined by how much you buy in for, but by the size of the blind.

Another question I forgot to add is.
B) Do you think my betting line is fine in this hand?

Turn bet is a bit large, flop bet is a bit small. I'd rather see you just pot/pot/shove, but I suppose its fine. The key is that you're betting & betting close to potsized.

End result: I checked and felt hellishly stupid after he turned up his hand which was K-J.
After reanalyzing the hand I see it was a fairly easy shove on the river, since if he had a set he would have to bet on the turn since there are straight and flushdraws there. The only thing that dazzled me was that when I bet 4.6 on the turn he instant called me and got my kinda off guard so I wasn't that sure of my hand being the best.

My first thought of line when he called on the flop was that I should slow down if A) flushdraw comes B) Q-J comes (I just had a feeling he had k-q/j)

Thanks for the advice guys! I still got something to learn when it comes to valuebetting hands I guess! :)
